The process of Inquiry is a crucial, yet often overlooked, skill everyone should learn in society today. According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, inquiry is “an examination into facts or principles,” but in reality it is much more than that. It is at its heart a true desire to know, to seek out answers rather than avoid problems. It is effective questioning, where one does not merely take facts at face value but rather puts effort into checking and testing those claims, which in turn helps him better reflect upon the world around him. Personally, the process on Inquiry has, and will continue to help me immensely throughout my academic career, through how it affects me personally, how it relates to Liberty University, and in the future as I continue to participate in the larger community of scholars and conversations within my specific interests.…

One thing in this article, I think especially useful is the examination skills. Professor Leamnson said that “the absolute worst thing you can do is to fall for the crazy notion that the way to prepare for an exam is to compress it all in the last 12 to 18 hours before the test, and keep it up right to the very last minute (Leamnson 11).” It is exactly what most of the college students acting in school. It determines your ability, level of understanding about the material, and also the academic result. I used to not study good enough after class, and study extremely…

English has never been my favorite subject in high school because I struggled with essays. When I created an essay, I knew what I wanted to say and what point I was trying to make. However, putting words down to express my ideas and using correct grammar, was very difficult. My MLA format and spelling was adequate, nevertheless I would have many grammar issues and my thesis sometimes needed improvement. My English professors focused on famous writers, their work and the consequences of plagiarism; they did not emphasize how to correctly do citations, or what a portfolio truly is. When I started English Composition One, I realized there was still much to learn. This course taught me the proper way to construct a professional portfolio and how to correctly cite my work.…
