Reflective Essay: An Application To A Christian Community School

Since a very young age I was being taught who Jesus was, was read bible stories, and have gone to church. As I grew older, I began to truly understand the things I had been taught and developed my own understanding of my Christian faith. I developed relationships with people within my church and youth group that I attended and was comfortable talking with them about my faith. Also, I have helped lead some of my friends whom did not grow up in a Christ centered environment to Christ. As I was starting my college search I decided that a Christian affiliated school is where I wanted to go. I wanted to be in an environment that could help me grow in my relationship with Christ, grow relationships with other people through Christ, and feel comfortable sharing my beliefs all while receiving a college education. There is well known saying that you become the most like the top 5 people you are with. Often times, people go into college with the same background and beliefs that I do, but they meet people who do not share in the same beliefs, so they become more like people who may get mixed up in the party scene. The closest and most long lasting friendships I have made have been made through church and youth group. I know that I can feel comfortable talking with them about my faith and my daily struggles, and I know that I will always have someone to pray with me.
