EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
In today’s work scenario where organizational commitment is diminishing day by day and job hopping is more common, the organization needs to identify what make their employees tick, satisfied so that they can retain the best of the lot. It is said that recruiting a new employee is costlier than retaining an existing one. This project aims to find out the relationship between organizational commitment, job satisfaction and perceived organizational support in Wellfit auto Industries, Cochin.

In today’s world of work, where job hopping is a common phenomenon, it is important for an organization to know if their employees are committed to organization. There are many factors that affect employee’s commitment towards the organization. There are many factors like satisfaction, support from the organization, pay, and working hours etc that affect an employee’s commitment towards the organization. In this context, it is the organization’s responsibility to take care of these factors like pay, working conditions, providing the employee with the needed support, making sure the employee is satisfied etc. It is important that organizations understand the motivating factors for their employees which would also help them retain their best performing employees which in turn would make the employees remain with the organization.

Company profile

Wellfit auto Industries is a manufacturing company. It is manufactures car seat covers. Wellfit came a long way since inception in the year 1986 to emerge as a key player in the U.A.E. as well as International market from a humble beginning. It is due to the dedicated and talented workforce it has now grown up to a company consisting of multi business activities. The success story is highly depended up on the customers who gave their continued support enabling the group to obtain a rapid progress within a short period. The Automobile Seat Cover manufacturing units in U.A.E. and India are the main branches of the Group. The U.A.E unit is located at New Industrial Area, Ajman, U.A.E. while the India unit is located at the (export oriented zone of) Cochin Special Economic Zone, Kerala, India enriched by skilled and vast experienced workforce. The exceptional quality of Wellfit products captured the entire U.A.E., Middle East, Russia and African markets with wide popularity within a short period. The raw materials of finest quality are imported from U.S., India, and Far Eastern Countries. The bulk global outsourcing of raw materials and in-house manufacturing facilities lead to ‘economies of scale’, which enable them to sell products at reasonable price. The company is now one of the largest car seat cover manufacturing and exporting companies in the Middle East and India. Both the factories are equipped with the state of the art facilities and sophisticated machineries including computerized cutting, welding and laminating machines. They have recently achieved an ISO 9001 2000 certification at the U.A.E unit.
