Summary / Abstract
This study was to determined which organizational structure is important for which type of organization and its importance and how can we cope with challenge in organization.
It was requested by Ms. Nazia Hussain.
It was requested on (date). 22 November 2013.
The investigation was done by all the group members.
The main findings were questions answered by Ms. Amna Munir during the interview Organization is an abstract of an organization. It is an assertion of who is performing the various functions and an enterprise of a Company and how these people set forth to one another. Organizational Structure peculiarly essential for decision making. Most companies either have a tall or flat organizational structure. Small companies barely use flat organizational structure. Flat structure enable small companies to make a hasten decision. Are they are seldom growing rapidly with new products. Organizational structure is the skeleton of an organization. It is an expression of who is performing the various functions and tasks of a company and how these people relate to one another. Organizational structure encompasses a list of the various job positions, titles and duties of a business, and the reporting structure or chain of command among them. Structure is a statement of the current state of affairs, not the ideals, intentions or betterment of organizations. Organizational structure does not include "should." The important of organizational structure is peculiarly crucial for communication. Organizational structure is essential for reckon employee performance. Consequently, superiors can more readily complete semiannual or annual performance appraisals, which are usually mandatory in most companies. Organizational structure is peculiarly essential in consummating goals and results. Organizational structure facilitates companies to better manage change in the market place including consumer needs, government regulation and new technology. It is concluded that Simpler the structure the better. Organizational structure has a profound effect on the performance of the business. More clear the organizational structure the better the performance. Information transfer, performance expectation, back and forth exchange, passing on the order and receiving back the feedback is all depended on the organizational structure.

There are some recommendation for any organization to cope any challenges related to the organization.

Provide career path and growth plan for employees.
Stipulate information in the factors that bestow to successful performance on a job.
Stipulate a visible organization commitment to people development through structured development initiatives built around organizational competencies.

Introduction

Background

This report has been written because it is a business related topic as we all know organization is a very important part of all economic activities Everyone needs to know what they're doing. Organizational structure and design help companies to understand themselves and ideally to work together to accomplish all the tasks and achieve all the goals of an organization. Often when a company is small and starting up, it neglects both of these concepts while it figures out its identity, tasks, functions and all of the things organizational structure and design help put in order. While structure and design are two parts of the same whole, they have some differences that managers must understand in order to best shape their businesses.
A social unit of people that is structured and managed to meet a need or to pursue collective goals. All organizations have a management structure that determines relationships between the different activities and the members, and subdivides and assigns roles, responsibilities, and authority to carry out different tasks. Organizations are open systems--they affect and are affected by their environment.
It narrates us about how essential organizational structures are for peculiarly communication. It’s than essential for acquiring goals

Data for this report were gathered from 11 November 2013– 20 November 2013.
All the written data of this report was completed by the help of research work by using internet services and interview, by asking questions with teacher and by the help of our friends
Interview was taken on 19th November 2013 by Ms Amna Munir from our group
In interview we asked some question related to our topic Organizational structure and its Challenges interview was very good and informational for us it provide us knowledge and answers of the problematic questions that help us to complete our report

We got the answers of all question that we asked from ms Amna Munir and these findings help us to complete our report and also very knowledgeable for us

Q1 how important is organizational structure for an organization?

It is very important as it help the organization in properly defining and organizing the task and responsibility. Also the organizational structures are important for the strategic development and strategic implementation.

Q2 which type of organizational structure does you feel is the most effective? And why?

Hierarchal structure is the most important organizational structure. As it has clear line as well as well defines communication structure. Also hierarchal structure helps us in defining the role of each level and identifying the whole horizon of each level.

Q3 how hierarchy works for an organization?

Hierarchy work in information dissemination and information gathering across. Clear line of command and control as well as feedback structure.

Q4 Equalizing technological knowledge among teams is a big challenge for an organization how can we cope up with this challenge in an organization?

Equalizing technological knowledge among team can be catering with the help of training and development. As well as conducting training need analysis and then training your teens/employees according to the requirements.

Q5 How organizational structure affects business performance?

Organizational structure has a profound effect on the performance of the business. More clear the organizational structure the better the performance. Information transfer, performance expectation, back and forth exchange, passing on the order and receiving back the feedback is all depended on the organizational structure. Simpler the structure the better.

Discussion

The main discussion of our report is organizational structure and challenges and how to cope with these challenges of modern world . we choose this topic because it is a business related topic as we all know that organization is a very important part of all economic activities it help the organization in properly defining and organizing the task and responsibility.
All the basic type of organization that help us to understand the hierarchical representation and which organizational structure is better for any organization. There are 6 basic types of organizational structure
Simple Structure is a slight division of labor and a scarcely developed organizational structure this structure often leads to bonding between the employees and to the work. The relation with the product and the importance of the work are mostly obvious.The advantages are efficiency and flexibility, and responsibilities are usually clear. Functional structure group’s positions into work units based on similar activities, skills, expertise, and resources
Divisional structure With the company’s goal in mind, an organization that operates in different environments is made up out of units that each demands a unique structure. This structural differentiation is achieved by determining only the desired output of each separate unit.
Matrix structure combines functional specialization with the focus of divisional structure. This structure uses permanent cross‐functional teams to integrate functional expertise with a divisional focus. it is the most complex organizational structure
Line and staff structure combines the line structure where information and approvals come from top to bottom, with staff departments for support and specialization. Line and staff organizational structures are more centralized.
Project structure of an Organizational units to complete projects of a long duration. Each project is vitally important to the organization.The size of the project team varies from one project to another.
Hierarchy works help us to understand the different structure and information dissemination. Clear line of command and control as well as feedback structure.
Research on Challenges help us to understand that different organization faced different challenges and how they cope these challenges efficiently.work and resolve and build growth from these challenges.

Conclusion

The main conclusion that can be drawn is therefore organizational structure and design help an organization in properly defining and organizing the task and responsibility. Also the organizational structures are important for the strategic development and strategic implementation.
Organizational structure has a profound effect on the performance of the business. More clear the organizational structure the better the performance. Information transfer, performance expectation, back and forth exchange, passing on the order and receiving back the feedback is all depended on the organizational structure. Simpler the structure the better.
A simple structure is defined as a design with low departmentalization, wide spans of control, centralized authority, and little formalization. This type of design is very common in small start up businesses.
The advantages are efficiency and flexibility, and responsibilities are usually clear. The main disadvantage is that this structure can hold back growth when the company gets to a size where the founder or CEO cannot continue to make all the decisions.

These are the recommendation for any organization to cope any challenges related to the organization
The number one challenge that organizations and clients are facing right now is attracting and keeping good people. For its solution recommended that organization should Provide career path and growth plan for employees
Provides information on the factors that contribute to successful performance on a job provides a visible organizational commitment to people development through structured development initiatives built around organizational competencies
The second challenge that organizations are facing right now is equalizing technological knowledge among their teams .For that its recommended organization should Develop training program to increase technology knowledge and use
The third challenge with organizations is aligning their teams to focus on innovation and growth. For its solution recommended that organization should Create peer leadership program group and mentor program
