1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 Company Profile:
Simca Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. is one of well known pharmaceutical industries in the country. SLPL was established in 2044 B.S. in Balkumari, Bhaktapur. It was then shifted to its new
Location at Bhaktapur Industrial Estate, Byasi, Bhaktapur in 2068 B.S. It occupies an area of 40253ft2. SLPL is dedicated to manufacture and market safe, effective and quality pharmaceutical products through continuously improving the technologies, facilities, knowledge and resources to meet the GMP standards.
It consists of different departments that employ number of qualified pharmacists, technical and non technical staffs. Its departments are:
Production Department
Quality Assurance and Quality control Department
Research and Development Department
Storage Department
Engineering and Maintenance Department.

1.2 Quality Policy:
The scientists in Simca plant, be it production or quality control, leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the finished product leaving the premises fulfil a standard of purity as a GMP requirement. Whether it is Production or Marketing, every professional in the company practises ethics in whatever he or she has to deliver.

2. DEPARTMENTS OF SLPL 2.1 Production Department:
Production Department of SLPL includes two unit viz. Cephalosporin Unit and Non Cephalosporin unit. The non- cepha unit is further divided to solid, liquid and semi solid sections and a separate external preparation section.

As per the GMP requirement about provision of separate area for manufacturing of penicillin and non penicillin drugs including cephalosporin, away from other drugs, SLPL also has provision of separate unit for manufacturing of cepha-drugs away from non-cepha drugs. This is a requirement as stated by GMP for avoiding the cross contamination.
Both the units have separate provision of AHU (air handling unit).
