The ongoing draw-down of active duty Army will affect captains and majors. The Army's draw-down plan is a "balanced approach that maintains readiness, while trying to minimize turbulence to the officer corps” states Dave Martino, director, Officer Personnel Management Directorate at Human Resources Command. Officer Separation Board (OSB) process begins March 2014 for qualified captains in year groups 2006 through 2008. Majors in year groups 1999 through 2003 future will be decided by the OSB beginning in April 2014. Selected officers are notified already of their eligibility for the OSB.
