HOSTS SETUP
1: Turn off all internet access.
2: You need to find your existing hosts file so navigate to here (hidden files and folders need to be shown); Windows 7/Vista/XP

3: In the ETC folder is a file called hosts, open this file with notepad (double click then open with notepad), in notepad the file will look like this;

5: Close the hosts file that you opened with notepad and then rename it to hostsbackup.

B, Right click the hosts file and select properties, security, edit, your user, take full control by ticking the full control box, click apply.
In XP to see the security tab do this;
1, Launch Windows Explorer or My Computer.
2, Click on the Tools at the menu bar, then click on Folder Options.
3, Click on View tab.
4, In the Advanced Settings section at the bottom of the list, clear the tick
On the use simple file sharing check box.
5, Click OK.
C, 64bit users start internet explorer or my computer and type;
C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
into the address bar and the hosts will appear.
D, Many firewalls and antivirus software prevent the hosts from being edited or even change it back again after you have edited it so if you still can’t save the hosts after all the above steps then restart in safe mode and change it there.
E, Windows 7 users getting error;

Open the Hosts file, make the necessary changes, and then click Save on the Edit menu. If using Windows 7, you will need to click Save on the File menu.

7: So now your hosts should be renamed to hostsbackup and now you need to simply copy the hosts from this folder and paste it to the ETC folder.
8: If you had any extra entries from step 4 the open the text document on the desktop and select all then copy. Open your new hosts file with notepad and paste the entries after the # and on a new line;

9: This is the final step, Close all browser windows and open a "Command Prompt" (Start Menu >
All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt) type ipconfig /flushdns into the cmd prompt then press Enter then close the Command Prompt.
This host file that you have copied is different from previous Adobe hosts as it has far more entries but has been optimised to save space and memory (hosts is loaded into memory on start-up), if you have had any previous hosts files/blocks by thethingy then you should replace your old one
