Nt1310 Unit 3 Network Analysis
According to the analysis of the Problem, Controllers have knowledge about their interdomain nodes and status links .Its avoid the loop in their domain and compute the optimized path for their domain but on the egress port and out from the domain it can’t compute the path.
We present the ALTP(Avoid loops with test packet) scheme to avoid that loops and packet drops in the whole network of SDN. We used the Test packets to check the status of the links between the two domains by using STP. It will select the optimal link among two domains before sending the data from Source to destination. We will discuss below that at which condition the test packet working is useful.
We don’t introduce the new data plane and break the concept of SDN and without the modification of switches. The ALTP is based on echo and reply packets. In the Fig.3 and fig.4, the Proposed Scheme will describe.
1. When the source will send the packets to destination if the destination will in different domain then controller send the test packet from their own domain to other domain for calculated the optimized whole path in the network. The Controller of the source domain will leave one inter-domain link

The metric path for test packet-2 Echo path is ACF and the reply is FCA. The test packet 1 and 2 is check from their latency delay. In that cases the test packets is used for both inter-domain links step by step. The controller will get the both test packets. it will store the value of both test packet response time in their data base. It will check the compare of both result if the test packet-1 response time is greater than the test packet-2 then the traffic of host-A will send through the link-2 or if the test-packet 2 response time will be greater than test packet-2 .The traffic will pass through the inter domain link-1. In this case the Test packet -2 response times is smaller than test packet-2. The host-traffic is send by

The Auxiliary port is used for remote access and can also be used if the Console port is damaged or not responding. The third way to access the CLI is through Telnet.…

Stateful failover link uses logical update (LU) software that performs state replication through LAN interface into the standby device. As previously mentioned a stateful firewall caches the information of the connection established in state table. The state table stores the information TCP and UDP connection and it also stores the information of NAT (network address translation), H.323 and MGCP (multi gateway control point) connection and so on that are sent over stateful LAN interface to standby device. However by default stateful LAN interface do not replicate HTTP (TCP 80), it need manually configured using command failover replicate http. State replication provides uninterrupted service and zero downtime on network as it replicates the information to standby device. In active/standby failover mode, when stateful failover is configured it do not detect failure in first 15 seconds (default) it performs two consecutive check and then declare standby device as active. However stateful link can be configured with existing failover LAN interface, but this not recommended as it may cause disruption with failover…

The need for computers of networks with guaranteed quality of service is widely recognized today. Unlike todays best effort networks like the Internet, where the user has no guarantee on the performing it may expect from the network, Quality of service networks guarantee the end user application a certain level of performance. Jitter measures the fluctuating of delay of packets in the given stream for packets, which is an important property for much application. Ideally, packets should be delivered in a completely periodic fashion; however, even if the source establish an evenly spaced stream, unavoidable jitter is displayed by the network due to the different queuing and propagation delays, and packets reach the destination with a wide range of inter-arrival times[36]. We need to achievement the QoS with the best performance thus the suggestion to combine two algorithms, the first algorithm simple switching spanning tree, and second algorithm multipath and must be using the Queue to set in switching. The first method design to learning the all switches about the location of the host in switch and then avoid any loop by using some codes, and second method design to send the packets to all path to decrease the…

As a network engineer it is very important to keep the network available for users at all times. “A highly available network means that the network and the applications that are used on it are both operational and accessible at all times” (CiscoPress 2008 p. 124). Working as a network engineer I am always on call because there is someone always using the network. “An always on facility is needed to maintain the business-critical apps” (Volonino 2011). The network is monitored 24 hours 7 days a week even if no one is scheduled to be in the office we still have to monitor the network to make sure there are not outages are hiccups along the way. If there is a network outage are any bandwidth issues that come up, I need to be able to run diagnostics and be able to manage the switches and routers as needed 24 hours 7 days a week just in case, and if something does happen I need to be able to find out what is causing this issue before it becomes a major problem. We also have to monitor all of our network equipment to make sure there is no unusual behavior like a Denial Of Service (DoS) or security breaches. Each engineer on our team has a laptop that we take home with us so when we are on call it is easy to vpn into our corporate network to run diagnostics on the network equipment to make sure everything is functioning properly. The majority of devices we us on our network are Cisco devices. Cisco systems offer a software application called LMS (Cisco Works LAN Management Solution). LMS is a centralized system for sharing device information across all LAN management applications (Cisco 2012). We use the LMS software to monitor equipment, traffic, and users. I use this software to do the majority of my daily work. Recently cisco developed a mobile app for this software application for iPhone and Droid OS. This gives me a huge advantage because when I am on call I don’t have to lug my laptop around with me all the time and I can still monitor the equipment and run…

    * As the days are going forward, the necessity and involvement to network are increasing at an exponential rate. With the increment of user, development in this field is necessary. Communication over internet is nothing but transferring of data from one user to other user or we can say from one end system to other end system. There are two basic types of methodology used for data transferring, circuit switching and packet switching. Modern networks are basically a hybrid of both of them. In the packet switched network the original data is divided into small packets and sent over the net to ensure the maximum use of the network resources. These packets travel the whole network with the help of the intermediate routers that is the network switches and reaches the destination end system by a complex procedure. In the intermediate routers all the packets are first stored, queued and then forwarded to the outgoing link. Here very often it happens that due to various causes all the packets arriving at the router cannot be stored and forwarded to the client. As a result congestion…

The main purpose of designing the Stream Control Protocol (SCTP) was to offer a robust transfer of traffic between the hosts over the networks. For this reason SCTP multi-homing feature was designed, in which an SCTP sender can access destination host with multiple IP addresses in the same session. If the primary path between the source and the destination is down, the traffic may still be sent to the destination by utilizing redundant path. And SCTP multi-homing also supports for the concurrent multipath transfer of traffic. This paper introduces the effect of different network factors like concurrent cross traffic, congestion control algorithms and SACK timers on multi-homing feature of SCTP. Throughput and end-to-end packet delay were used as performance metrics to introduce the effect of these factors. From the study it was introduced that concurrent cross traffic in the network behaves same on multi-homed interfaces and both interfaces were affected almost same. It was concluded that congestion control algorithms also affects on multi-homing, the RED congestion control algorithm reduced delay and improved throughput of the SCTP multi-homing. In RFC4960 recommended SACK timer is 200ms, but when 100ms SACK timer was used with concurrent multipath transfer in SCTP (CMT-SCTP) multi-homing, the high throughput and low delay was achieved as compared with 200ms and 300ms, which indicated that different SACK timers affects on multi-homing feature of SCTP. All the simulation works have been conducted in NS2 network simulator.…
