My Strengths And Weaknesses In My Writing
Strengths and Weaknesses in Writing
Writing is meant for people to properly convey their feelings, thoughts, hopes, and opinions. My own writing has its own strengths and weaknesses and it needs to become better and more affirmative. The weakness that I know that I have is knowing the proper grammar and writing style for what I am trying to portray. Though I am able to use rhetoric and analyze writing and show my thoughts. I need to improve my writing so people want to read it and can understand it.
Part of writing is knowing how to and when to fix what is wrong with it. I am someone who struggles with grammar but who loves the art of writing but, can’t write that well themselves. I have read thousands of books. While I read I see phrases and sentences in other people’s literary work that could be changed or made slightly better. I need to use this editing technique in my own work to catch mistakes that are grammatically incorrect and style wise that do not make sense. This could make my own essay writing skills tremendously. Also the act of using more proficient vocabulary properly, often, and affectively will change it for the better. From reading non-fiction book, fiction books, and speeches I notice the use of literary allusions from the bible, Greek and Roman mythology, and Shakespeare's work. For example Geoffrey Chaucer used biblical connections to connect his characters to the audience through something they knew well. When, reading speeches like Queen Elizabeths to her troops at Tilbury in 1588 I notice she addresses the concern people have for her as ruler and a woman. I feel it is a strength of mine to notice the tone of voice of the author or narrator of a passage and then put it onto paper in my own

Throughout my time is College Composition I, I learned and developed numerous skills that I will carry with me to college and beyond. While writing the five assigned essays, I was able to identify my strengths and weaknesses. I believe a strength of mine was my ability to add in personal stories into my essays. For example, in my definition essay, I included my fear of disappointment and how I work to overcome this particular fear. On the other hand, one weakness that I struggled with was style. While writing my essays, I would sometimes use wordy and unclear sentences structures. Often times I would focus solely on improving my diction while writing my papers.…

As a writer, I believe I have several strengths as well as challenges. Beginning with my strengths, I believe I have a passion for writing. When I write I make it easy to follow my train of thought from simple word selection to more complex thoughts. I also have my topics organized in a pattern designed for an easy flow from start to finish of what is written. While I strive to keep it simple, sometimes I have to get creative to capture and keep my readers attention. For my challenges, I believe my limited vocabulary may be a problem along with thoughts that do not convey any useful information. In order to improve my writing skills, I have to read, re-read, and re-read again to make sure I stick to the topic at hand.…

Writers all have different strengths and weaknesses when it comes to their writings. They all have them but my weaknesses are my grammar, spelling, and my punctuation. First of I don’t really understand all of the rules of grammar, therefore I am not good at grammar in the first place. The thing that I know I can't do the most out of all three of these topics is my spelling. I am so bad at spelling and it can be very bad on my writings, my punctuation could use some work also. I either forget to use it or just don't know that I was supposed to. I feel like it is a good thing that I am taking this class because I need…

Towards the beginning of English 110, I wanted to improve upon several issues within my writing style. These issues included the frustration of attempting to improve upon my inability to write a coherent sentence after experiencing intense feelings of irritation and boredom. The other problem involved my inability to create seamlessly flowing paragraphs from one to the next. My goal was to improve my writing abilities by practicing and learning to expunge those mistakes and become a caring writer for the papers I had to write. I have met some of these goals with relative success.…

two strengths I have when writing poetry I guess I can write about just anything if I had to or whatever comes to my head I can put down on paper pretty well I just can't find the right words to go at the end of them to make a clear rhyme scheme. Another weakness I have when writing is I have to kind of be in the mood if I want to write. if I am not feeling like writing it's almost impossible for me to start writing things but once I get going I am able to fluently putt down whatever I am thinking at the time. Maybe a strength that I have when writing is whatever I am thinking about I can express well how I am feeling if I am writing it. I have trouble telling people with words sometimes but when I write it down I can get out everything that I am feeling.…

Retrogress ten years from today I see my seven year old self sitting at the wooden dining room table in front of filling page, pencil in my right hand and yellow crayon in my left hand. Eager and ecstatic my right hand writes faster than my mind can think; seconds later my left hand colors in doodles as I gave rest to the rhetoric. (Semicolon) What could a seven year old boy be so happy about writing about though? Well, Spongebob of course.…

Writing in general is not one of my strong suits. It is difficult to highlight my strengths as I feel most of my writing shows off my weaknesses. However, it is extremely important for me to better my writing skills so I can reach my ultimate goal of earning my bachelor’s degree in business marketing. I have almost failed English class, on more than one occasion, because I could not grasp punctuation and where to put something as simple as a comma.…

Unfortunately, weaknesses are a challenge I do not cope with very well, especially in a scholastic setting. I was unaware of my writing weakness until English II displayed it in black and white. Furthermore, a considerable obstacle I found tough to overcome was confidence. Before turning in a test, a paper, or a project, I often underestimate myself in performing the task set before me. However, the results I receive constantly prove that I am capable of quality work. When my instructor assigned the first paper, I immediately began to focus all my efforts toward the assignment. After completing and submitting the paper, I patiently waited for the results. Not only did I earn a perfect score, I also received comments from my instructor stating how she admired…

Writing style is effected by two forces, knowledge and experience. The more you know of grammar the more intricate your writing, the rules of writing tailor and broaden your abilities. Then the stories of your life, and the experiences that shape your personality, deepen your writing. Your writing becomes more than a formula of good storytelling but a piece of life captured through your hands and onto paper.…

As a writer, there are things that I do well, but there are also things I could improve on to make my writing better. I’m pretty good at getting my point across, and getting people to understand what I’m trying to say. Another thing I’m good at is just writing the paper. Once I get started on a paper it is very easy for me to just keep writing until I’m done with it. However, when doing this I tend to not use the best grammar and be too wordy with my writing. I can definitely fix these issues, and continue to build on the things that I do well.…
