My Kiuder Assessment
My initial response to my kuder assessment was very positive. My mindset on how I wanted to decide my future career was derived from the three qualities the kuder assessment labeled me of containing. My three characteristics were Realistics, Investigative, and Social. Realistic meaning I am one to work well with tools and objects in order to build or repair something. Investigative suggests that I am a thinker who thinks of abstract ideas that values fields like science and math. Social tells the assessor to consider they carry the traits of an individual who likes to help and associate people in order to improve their mental, educational, or physical needs. My top working values were Income, Accomplishment, and Innovative. This means I am …show more content…
In that class it is surprising how my three interests came into play throughout the year. I had an opportunity to work with many different tools while conducting dissections on a deceased preserved cat. It took very strategic and meticulous skill to perform the dissections. The investigative interest can explain why I have such a high interest in the class. Due to the fact I am naturally interested in a scientific setting. Lastly Social I often had to collaborate with others while working on concepts of how the human body works. When I was involved with a dissection I had to work in a group. We constantly had to collaborate thoughts and communicate with each other in order to work to a specific goal. My Me3 was kind of shotty I kind of understand what it was trying to say when it gave me the certain matchups. My assessment resulted that I would be an architect, engineer, or visual arts major. It could be seen with the three interests I construed from the kuder that these may be some ideal careers for my characteristics. If I had to choose one that was more accurate in assessing my strengths based on my responses I would have to choose the kuder

When given a project to complete it’s always enjoyable when it involves something one is truly interested in. Choosing a profession is not an easy commitment and it’s one prone to change. I enjoyed listening to my classmates present material that they are actually fascinated by. Although all the presentations were good, I did not find my opinion swayed. I’m still deeply interested in obstetrics and gynecology.…

Interests are what you enjoy doing, i.e. playing basketball, taking long walks, hanging out with friends. Personality is a person's individual traits, motivational drives, needs, and attitudes. The two courses I have chosen are: Occupational Therapy and Computational Mathematics. I have chosen Occupational Therapy as will give the opportunity to learn within a small cohort which means there will be more support from my professors. It will also help me gain skills in problem solving and analysis, help me develop skills in teamwork and help me recognize the expanding types of work for occupational therapists. Also, I am interested in Occupational Therapy simply because I would love to make a profound difference in the lives of others if I pursue a career as an occupational therapist. Occupational therapy has a wide variety of options available. For example, I can choose to work in a variety of practice areas, work settings, and with people of all ages. I have chosen Computational Mathematics as one of my top two choices because I love maths. It has always been my favourite subject since I was a child. I think I will develop my passion for maths further by experimenting with computers. Also, I think Computational Mathematics will facilitate development of my skills through teamwork and individual projects.…

My results for the work interest assessments were social, investigative, and conventional. Social has to do with helping people. Social people tend to prefer working with others and taking on a team approach to dealing with problems. They typically get along well with other people and enjoy meeting new people in group settings. Investigative refers to thinking and problem solving. People in this category typically work in jobs that deal with science and the use of computers. Conventional relates to organization. People in the conventional category like to follow plans and be organized. Also, they tend to pay attention to small details.…

Starting anew at Tyler Junior College was the first step of reflection and figuring out my career goals. I have always wanted to help people with lung disorders and diseases. What drove me in this direction was my grandmothers passing due to lung cancer as well as myself having severe asthma. Since I wanted to be more involved with lungs and the respiratory system I chose Respiratory Care Therapy as my major. It took me some time to make this decision, I wondered if I would be happy doing this type of work and if I would make enough money to support a family. I also wondered if this specific field of medical science was right for me. I wanted to find my type of personality and see if it would be a match with the career I had chosen. To answer my questions I went to take the Type Focus to discover my personality, interest, and value type. I hope to find with this study that my personality is compatible with my profession of choice. The purpose of this study is to gain insight to myself and find if my personality is compatible with my career choice.…

One of the first assignments was to talk about ourselves and what our purpose in life was. That was one of the most difficult questions for me to answer because I’ve never been asked that, nor get into deep conversations such as that. Thinking of my qualities, I realized that I am a very caring person and put others in front of me. I naturally take care of others when they need help and will put anything down at any moment to help them. My meaning in life would be that helping hand. One who gives and doesn’t expect to receive. Seeing others happy is what motivates me. Taking this course helped me realize that maybe being a pediatrician would be a comfortable career that I could use my caring qualities in, and a career I would enjoy! I know that I’m emotionally, physically and mentally stable in how I view myself, before joining this course. My only problem was to figure out what my dream career was. To be certain on which direction I am going towards. I’m capable of following through with a goal as long as I know what that goal may be. Now I stand a little taller and more confident of where I am going and the decisions I’m making because of this course. My self-actualization I feel I have I had no…
