My Favorite Game To Play – Soccer Starting at my childhood, and until now sport games are my favorite type of entertainment. Whether it is outside playing, or at home on my console, sporting kind of activity would be the number one choice to pick. The special place here has the one and only, king of sports – Soccer, also known as European Football. This game, on my opinion, is the most passionate and artistic game in the world! It brings excitement and joy either while playing it, or watching your favorite team playing. As a fan, and as a player I enjoy doing both. Needless to say, football has over 200 million fans across the planet, which makes it the most popular kind of sports. Simple rules and continuous gaming make soccer more attractive. Add to this players’ technics and skills and the game will become a show. I got introduced to football through my father and my grandfather. Grandpa would always take me outside to kick the ball to each other. I was around 3 or 4 years old and already then I would prefer to run with the ball on the street, rather than play with toys. I will remember the day, when my father took me to actual soccer match. I was five, it was a game between our local team and somebody else. It didn’t matter to me. I was watching a beautiful performance. I felt ecstatic, I loved the action, I enjoyed dangerous and goal moments. After the game, I told my dad that I want to become a soccer player. He smiled and said, “The son wants to follow his father. Once I was a player too”. He took my hand and told me a lot of stories on the way home. Ever since I entered school, I attended the football class. We took participation in many competitions throughout the school years. We have even been to our state’s finals, where we took 4th place. It is a great feeling coming out to the field and putting yourself alongside your partners to reach the goal, to win the game… Of course, I didn’t become a soccer star.

People ask me why I care so much. They tell me it’s just a game, get over it. But soccer has never been just a game to me. Soccer has been consuming my time, thoughts, and body since my parents signed me up for small-time recreational soccer twelve years ago that developed into extremely competitive travel soccer. They, perhaps unknowingly, threw me headlong into a life of traveling countless miles, long nights of practice, and an unforgettable amount of tears, sweat, and bloodshed. All which persisted over the course of my extensive soccer career.…

Now that you have an idea of the rules of professional soccer, I will continue to explain the popularity and passion of the game. Soccer is very widely played all over the world. The most prestigious international soccer competition is that of the world cup, held every four years, it lasts about a month, the most recent one being held in South Africa world cup 2010. With more than a billion viewers a day and tuned in to approximately 30 billion times, it is more popular than the Super Bowl, the World Series, the Masters, and the NBA finals. One reason many researchers believe it is so popular, especially in third world countries is because of the lack of things needed in order to play. All you need is a goal and a ball. Soccer is so much a part of so many people’s everyday lives.…

Soccer has been a huge part of my life since I was young. Ever since I can remember, I’ve joined the school soccer team when I was given the option. Of all the years I was involved in soccer, my high school freshman year was the most memorable. Due to my advanced skills, I was put in the senior soccer team, a feat quite difficult to accomplish for any incoming athlete. That year our school hired a highly experienced coach; he made our school team feel like a real discourse community. Unlike other coaches I’ve had before, his knowledge and wisdom of the game of soccer surpassed that of anyone I’ve met. From the very first day of try-outs, I felt like I was part of a professional soccer team. Running back and forth across the soccer field, my classmates and I were working hard to impress the new coach, as he was just hours away from picking his team players. Little did I know I was in for an experience of a lifetime.…

Sports are a very popular topic amongst many people across the globe. Many people find a passion to participate or follow in the sport that calls their attention. I can still remember I grew up practicing to tie my shoes. Whether it be basketball sneakers, baseball cleats or fútbol cleats. I have always been interested in a variety of sporting events. If I was asked to say which sport I would favor, I can say that soccer is a sport that grasps my interest. That made me to think about which sport is the one that is the most popular amongst the world. If you were to ask Americans, typically they might believe that American Football is the sport sits on top of gaining the most popularity. Whether that might be true in the United States it would be a completely false assumption to believe it is the most popular sport in the world. It leads to question if soccer is the most popular sport in the world? Why do most of the people follow soccer more than any other sport? In 2006, the World Cup was the most watched sporting event in the world. It was estimated that one out of two people were most likely to direct their attention toward soccer and catch a glimpse of the World Cup (Miller, 2010). Why is it that soccer overcomes its popularity between other well-known sporting events such as basketball or baseball?…
