Memorable Trip
As far as I can remember, I first visited Da Nang city - one of the most beautiful and dynamic cities in the central of Viet Nam - in Autumn, 2008 after passing the Entrance Examination to University. Da Nang city was quite peaceful in the early morning when I arrived. I and my cousin decided to rent a small hotel beside Han River. Now that we could spend only one day sightseeing, we decided to pay a visit to Ngu Hanh Son mountains, Cua Dai beach, Hoi An ancient town. To be specific, we started the trip to Ngu Hanh Son Mountains at 8 a.m. Along the streets out of the city, we all had a great time exploring the gorgeous sceneries. Han river came into our view as a tortuous snake. On the river, the industrial city life rose up strongly. It took us 15 minutes to arrive at Ngu Hanh Son Mountains. Frankly, it was the first time I had ever visited such a beautiful place. Then, Cua Dai beach was our next destination. Hardly can I forget the cool and windy afternoon when I together with my friends went for a stroll along the beach. Coastal life seemed simple, yet the fishermen we met on the beach that day appeared to be very friendly and helpful. They enthusiastically told us how the wind would change in a day, how the tidal waves would affect their life and how they had survived hundreds of thunderstorms. Our final destination was Hoi An ancient town, which is around 45 kilometers away from Da Nang city. I was very interested in the colorful traditional lanterns, which, I think, help to bring us back to the old days of Vietnamese villages. While sightseeing the town, we found that there were many foreign tourists in Hoi An. They were probably absorbed in the beauty of antiques. Particularly, the old town turned out to be more beautiful at night when everything was more sparkling in the candlelight.
We returned to the hotel at 9.00 pm. I felt a little tired but really happy. Life is

I was born in Kampong Cham Province and I have moved to live in Phnom Penh since I finished my high school. When I first came here in Phnom Penh, I felt very surprise and scare. The building and people were far different from my hometown. I got around Phnom Penh by motorbike for a first few days. I saw many high rise buildings; especially the city's French colonial buildings were beautiful. I saw some different kind of transportation that running on the road such as: modern car, Motorbikes, Motorbike-taxis (motodops), Taxis were available at a few locations, Tuk-tuks, and Cyclos. There transportations were in the great amount if compared to my province and it sometimes caused a very serious traffic jam and accidents. I also went to the Royal Palace which no photography was allowed inside the Silver Pagoda and some of the Palace buildings. You were expected to dress decently (no bare legs or shoulders). Beside this, I went to Wat Phnom. I liked the park there. It was a pleasant green space and a popular gathering place for locals. A few monkeys kept quarters there as well and will helped themselves to any drinks you leave unattended. After that I went to Independence and Liberation memorials. Impressive Buddhist-style Independence Memorial, commemorating the departure of the French in 1953, dominated the centre of the city. Nearby was the very ugly Stalin-style Liberation Memorial, marking the Vietnamese capture of the city in 1979. The area was especially popular on weekend nights with locals when the multi-colored fountains were activated and communal music was played. I took several pictures there and got some rest. I also went to Sorya shopping center which located at the south of the Central Market. It's on a North-South Street on the west side. It is currently Phnom Penh's main Western-style mall. It is air-conditioned and contains a range of cheap fast-food outlets as well as a well-stocked supermarket named Lucky Supermarket. You can do…

It provides opportunities for tourists from all over the world to view the vernacular houses and move around hutongs, from which tourists can experience the local customs, lifestyle and culture (Wang,1997). Remarkably, local cultural identity can be communicated to visitors through the tour (Wang,1997). Despite the fact that the rights and privacy of the residents may be invaded and tourism will probably increase ‘social interactions’, tourism can not only protect hutongs and courtyards, but also bring economic benefits for the city and create jobs to ease employment pressure (Ryan et al.,2013). In addition, hutong tourism combines urban modernization and heritage preservation appropriately, promoting plenty of good quality restaurants while maintaining the local cultural values. (Ryan et al.,2013). With the advanced facilities and new heat pump systems, the quality of life of local residents can also be…

Summer of 2009, I was in Vietnam at that time to enjoy my joyful summer vacation after a stressful semester at the University of San Francisco. I had planned out a trip to visit all the famous cities throughout Vietnam to learn more about my beautiful country. Sadly, a strong typhoon had attacked and caused a dramatic loss for the central coast of Vietnam. Central coast of Vietnam is known as the poorest part in the country because of the devastation of the natural calamities that happen there every year. Thousands of houses and hundreds of lives had taken away by the typhoon. My hometown, Quang Ngai, was badly affected by this natural calamity since it was also in the central part of Vietnam.…

Last summer, I and my friends went to Vung Tau by motorbike. We had two interesting days there. We start at 6a.m. Everyone gathered at Ben Thanh Market. After about one and a half hour, we got to Long Thanh stop station. We stopped there for 15 minutes and enjoyed the fresh milk which is a special drink there. Then we continued riding to Vung Tau city. After 1 hour we got there. We stayed in a nice hotel from which we could see the beach and it was certainly a good view. Then we went around the city and visited many interesting places. We took a lot of photos during our trips. Then we stopped for lunch at a seafood restaurant. The foods there were, I must say, extremely delicious. Then we got back to the hotel and rested for 3 hours. We went to the beach at about 4p.m. The water was so warm at we played under the sun. We also tried driving canoe and playing parachute. It was quite an unforgettable experience. At night, we went to the beach at took part in a local party. We danced and enjoy the beach at night. The day after we got back to Ho Chi Minh City. Although it was almost 5 months since I went on that trip but I will never for every memory about it. it was the most exciting trip I have ever gone in my life.…
