Les Lederman
Do you ever wonder where and how photographers start up their own business and what made them decide to go into that business. Or what about wondering what the life is like being one. Well in this essay I chose a specific photographer/photographers to interview and ask some of these questions. Some of them just very simple and others more complex to really get an understanding of their reasonings.
The photographer I had interviewed for this essay is named Les Lederman. Him and his wife Danielle both come together to achieve their success in this business. Les was born on November 1, 1984 and was born in Castro Valley, California. These two happily met at a Lake Christian Camp in 2010 and automatically fell in love especially sharing the same interest in photography. Once becoming a final couple they both realized the love and passion they had for this type of business and how it's been a part of their lives growing up, they knew what they had to do and that's when Anchored In Hope Productions was made. When in the process of

He then answered the question and said “ he had first started dreaming of taking photos when he saw the work of Clark Little a Hawaiian wave photographer”. I then continued to ask how photography has changed his perspective on how things are how they are. Which he then responded “ In photography the entire world is your backdrop. I know look at views, nature, even textures all around me as a potential photoshoot”. When most of the simple questions were answered I asked him a little more complex question asking him if there was one thing that you know now that you wish you knew when you first started what would that be he said, “ I wish I had done more posed shoots with people to start off with. I would have been able to practice a lot more more with angels, poses, and styles before actually getting

Kenny’s lifelong love for photography began when he first picked up his mother’s Kodak Instamatic camera. “I had never used one before,” Kenny said. Yet his curiosity turned into fascination with an eagerness to learn more. He studied the greats — Ansel Adams, Minor White, among others — but Kenny felt the most connected to White’s work. “[His influence] was really important,” Kenny said. “He did a lot of abstract stuff, and I saw the connection right away.”…

This paper has been far more difficult to research than I thought it would be. Unfortunately, photographers are not always given the full credit they desrve for their work and therefore, it is impossible to find the names of the artists of some of my favorite photographs. Instead, I decided to just look up popular photographers in the fashion industry in hopes of having easier access to information. Despite the fact that I now had the names of some of the most world famous fashion photographers, finding information on them is a whole other story in and of itself. As I am beginning to realize, the saying among the photography department is true- if you are not Annie Leibovitz, you will not be known until you are dead. For example, one of my favorite photographers is Diane Arbus. She had compiled vast amounts of work throughout her career. Unfortunately, all of her works were found in a locker after her suicide and then she was seen as an artist. To summarize what I am saying is that the only famous photographers are dead ones and all the successful ones are barely known. So in order for this research paper to even have the possibility of making it it to four pages, I am going to have to choose the cliché (yet greatly talented) photographer, Annie Leibovitz.…

Have you ever heard the expression “He’s so talented?” or “She’s so gifted?” I believe everyone has the gift to be talented at something. Whether it is in the career they choose, sewing, baking, speaking, teaching, the list of talents is endless. I feel it is what we do and how we go about doing it that creates the drive in us to believe and pursue our passions in life. Doing for me and others brings happiness and peace in my life. I may not be able to paint like Pasco, or play music like Bach, but because they believed in their passion I can enjoy their work through sight and sound. This is also true with the works of Goldsworthy. He has a wonderful understanding and harmony with the relationship between the environment and his art .Giving us photographs and film coverage to enjoy after the work has been completed. Between the changes of the seasons, movement, light, and weather, he finds energy and the space within it to create his work. Life is a journey; it is always in a state of change and awareness to the changes…

Born December 28th, 1942 in New York City, Neil Leifer was born. Growing up there, he would gain free admission to the New York Giants games by pushing the wheelchairs of handicapped patrons into the stadiums. Using his free ticket and camera, he would position himself on the field with the photographers. As a youth, he studied photography at Henry Street Settlement. Leifer gained free admission to the 1958 NFL title game between the Giants and Baltimore Colts. This game became famous as the first overtime game in league history. Leifer, on his sixteenth birthday, caught several images of the game winning touchdown which he sold to Sports Illustrated. Sports Illustrated's editors liked Leifer's work and he quickly became a boy wonder at the magazine. He had his first cover shot in 1962 at age 19.…

Photography will be a challenge because I will have to gain the ability to photograph something ordinary and make it absolutely extraordinary. My mother is a photographer, I showed interest in photography when my mother began doing it because she makes everything she photographs an amazing moment. Sports, portraits, architecture, still life, I didn’t know where to begin! I decided to do contact my friend, Elysabeth, who was already in the commercial photography class so she could give me some tips for taking great pictures. She told me to start by a genre of photography that I had the most trouble in and work my way down to the easier categories. I took her advice and wow, did that help! Since I had the most difficulty in sports photography, I started with taking action-shots of the athletes at games, and they actually turned out all right, thanks to paying attention to my teacher in the Principles class. Then, I worked down to portraits and asked the most photogenic friends of mine to model for me. I used different angles of light and poses in order to use my photo characterize my friends as different emotions. Those photos turned out pretty well too; my confidence in my art increased when Elysabeth critiqued my pictures and told me that I had a good chance of making it into the Commercial Photography class. I was excited, but my challenges weren’t…
