learning to forgive
We as human race go through life experiencing different things and learn different ways of accepting or not accepting. Forgive or not forgive. Go on throughout life problems and trials. No one man or woman’s beliefs or morals remain concrete. Only one thing in life is constant and that’s change, which in turn allows our belief system to change. As we encounter life’s obstacles and get older.

Our belief system is made up of a set of core values which we tend to use in everything we do, say or believe in. I would like to think our belief system is what makes us rare as people. Your core values are almost unbreakable. This all comes from a learned belief system. A known theory, “Big five” evidence, tradition, authority, association and revelation. Evidence belief system, shows that one thing cause another. Something that is seen learned or taught. Evidence is something you can remember and refer back to. This belief system is more factual. Very rational and base on the use of logical thinking, some may think of learned helplessness. Due to a consistent outcome of your actions a more common belief system would be thought of when you think of tradition. Tradition is passed on through families and societies are a major thought or factor in developing our systems. Through learned acceptance or denial I think a belief system learned through tradition would be more concrete and lived by being that it would be learned from family and close friends. We are so conditioned, so heavily burdened with belief in tradition. With the past that this actually prevents us from seeing or listening in your early childhood or preteen years is when you belief system is instilled in you. How you act in a public place, how you should treat others family members and friends. How to act in a public place, how you should treat others family members and friends. How you should care about the way others treat you as well. The traditions perpetuated through families and societies are a major

“… if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins” (Mark 12:25 NIV). God is expected to forgive his creations, and humans, in their constant struggle to emulate God, follow his teachings. And just as God’s mercy is described as prevailing over his wrath, so in Islam, human to human forgiveness is associated with the control of one’s anger. In fact, one of the characteristics of the Islamic Believer is that “…when they are angry they forgive.” (al-Shura 42:37) Muslims are encouraged to reflect on their own imperfections, and God’s forgiveness for our mistakes, as a reason to offer forgiveness in turn to their fellow humans. Forgiveness among humans is given a high societal value for its ability to heal wounds and promote reconciliation. A similar ideology is expressed in Buddhism, as reflected by the teachings in the Dhammapada. “He abused me, he struck me, he overcame me, he robbed me’ — in those who harbor such thoughts hatred will never cease. ‘He abused me, he struck me, he overcame me, he robbed me’ — in those who do not harbor such thoughts hatred will cease.” Dhammapada…

Everyone can take a lesson in forgiveness. Little grudges and thoughtless condemnations weigh society down and make humanity miserable. “True forgiveness goes hand in hand with no longer condemning. Some people forgive and keep thinking, ‘that son of a gun, what he did to me.’ But is that forgiveness? When you forgive you have to let it go.” (Zamperini 215) Zamperini considers forgiveness to be an all or nothing subject. Either you forgive and let go, or that seed of hatred festers and will once more emerge.…

We as individuals have certain beliefs and will whole to these beliefs even when there is no merit. For example Santa Claus as young child I believe in this fictional person but as I grew older I realize there was no Santa only my father. But through the years I arbitrarily pass the same fictional beliefs in Santa onto my nieces and nephew. My beliefs of a man in a red suit, white beard, coming down a chimney with a bag of presents and riding a sled pulled by eight reindeers I infuse my knowledge on to them. But each Christmas I realize I am not the only Americans that form these fictitious beliefs.…

It is very easy to believe that our own way of doing thing is correct and anyone different is wrong or inferior. This is due to a lack of understanding of the unknown. When we start to understand more about the unknown it becomes the known and so is more acceptable to us. So by understanding and respecting the beliefs of others we can learn very much.…

Accepting someone seems so easy, yet people find it so hard to do. Someone wouldn’t guess that she is so broken because she is good at faking it. She’s faked it so long it’s become the norm. However faking it isn’t fixing it. Eventually the distress builds up and she has two options: fight or flight. Nobody should judge someone unless they have walked a mile in their shoes. Judgement thoroughly hits when someone has an unexpected event in their life that is not socially acceptable. Acceptance is the main problem here because no one is doing it. Let others do what they want. Let them believe in what they want. Other people’s opinions don’t matter. In the sermon by Jonathon Edwards, said that God is angry with His people and “Thus easy is it for God when he pleases to cast his enemies down to hell” (Edwards, 120). Edwards wrongly expressed how God really feels for His people because God loves all of His people. He is a loving God not an unkind God. People in that congregation felt mortified. They didn’t need to be held to impractical standards to be accepted. Others have the right to be enough for…

From personal experience my religion is something that my family takes very seriously. I'm not sure if it is do to tradition, culture, or experiences from the past. Without our religion there's no telling exactly where I'd be. Religion not only shapes my past but everyone around me also feels the impact of it. Another example would be culture, mainly due to the fact that without any kind of culture there would be no separation between people. Cultural separation can be a positive thing when possible, because two people of two different backgrounds and history can them combine histories in a sense. Combining your history creates a more rich story that your family and people can carry.…
