Abstract

We as a society have accepted certain standards that we hold true. These are beliefs that we have faith in such as religion and the “right to bare arms.” The religious belief that as a Christian “Christ “will protect us but morally we purchase fire arms for protection from certain individuals within society that choose not to follow the norm. Is it right for a religious person to purchase a fire arm in order to protect their family against another individual? For example if there has been a rampage amount of violent house burglaries and the individual that breaks into the house is injured. Was it right for

The “social principles” or value indicates that we accept these beliefs, morals and values as a part of American society. The Second Amendment allows an individual the “right to keep and bear arms.” The moral lesson of this is that an individual will eventually be injured. Right or wrong these are the standards (values) that an individual accept within a society.

We as individuals have certain beliefs and will whole to these beliefs even when there is no merit. For example Santa Claus as young child I believe in this fictional person but as I grew older I realize there was no Santa only my father. But through the years I arbitrarily pass the same fictional beliefs in Santa onto my nieces and nephew. My beliefs of a man in a red suit, white beard, coming down a chimney with a bag of presents and riding a sled pulled by eight reindeers I infuse my knowledge on to them. But each Christmas I realize I am not the only Americans that form these fictitious beliefs.
I ask myself is it morally wrong to tell them that Santa is real. My religious and faith in “God” say that I celebrate this holiday because it is “Jesus” birthday. I tell my nieces and nephew yes there is a Santa but the real reason we celebrate Christmas is because December 25 is the birthday of “Jesus” it is when he was

I recently read a newspaper article about “Job” the news article was about good and evil of man. The author Salley Vickers(2010) stated that the Bible “combines lyrical beauty with a modern nihilism.” In the story of Job, there is conversation going on between the Lord and Satan. The Lord asks Satan where he was going and he says to and fore seeing who I can devour. The Lord asks Satan had he consider his servant Job. Job was a good man never did anything evil. Satan told the Lord if he would take the fence from around him that he could make him sin. The Lord agreed to take the protection form around Job. Job suffers a great many mishaps he loses his wealth, children all die and body become cover in sores. His friends accuse Job of sinning because he was in God favor and now is suffering. The irony of this story is that Job never sin and he was a good man. I would say that the good that Job receives was through the Lord which reflected on to him making him a good person through God giving. But the evil that was reflected on him was by Satan. Sometimes I think that people are either good or evil it is the circumstances surrounding them in which they can appear good or

Living on the age of knowledge we have uncover a vast of information throughout the ages. We have now the advantage of choosing our own believes, let that be a believer to a god, a believer to two or more gods, a none believer, or simply acknowledge that there is a higher power. They consider their beliefs and “realities” to be true, and will distrust others that do not share such principles. Even though no one is completely free from the endless number of caves and walls being lived in/gazed at, the first step to being set free, or freeing others, is to accept the fact that everyone is being held captive. Not everyone is raised to have the same puppet-masters or images, therefore, not everyone shares the same “false beliefs”. However, by allowing themselves to consider others’ “realities” and recognizing why “personal realities” differ so greatly from one person to another, a common ground will be established. It is this mutual understanding that may spark the enlightenment of the outside, where true reality forms beliefs, unlike the cave, where it is the beliefs that form…

Furthermore, when discussing natural rights identifying the diversity and the advantage that comes from different outcomes of equality in an almost completely unbiased environment. As for moral principles, one being, everyone should work, play, and stay in an environment free of derogatory statements and racial slurs or insults. Likewise, another is to treat people nicely like the way one wants treatment. Lastly, we are all created equally yet just at different measure for each other. If the mathematics is correctly done on the aptitude of each other we are not inequalities which are a relation that holds between two values when they are different, we just end up with differing solutions because there is no such thing as absolutes.…

Why does God allow Satan to cause such tragedy in Job's life, a man whom God has already acknowledged as "my servant Job, that there is none like on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?"(1.8) From the beginning, it is known that Job is in no way deserving of his injustices, so a reason must be given. God gives Job an opportunity to prove that under any circumstances Job will still have faith. This simply a test for Job. The whole Book is a "double" journey for Job -- he shows God his faith and realizes the faith God has that Job will not stray from his path. Job knows deep down that God has not forsaken him.…

There are definitely other mechanisms that influence the origin and development of personal beliefs. The two examples that I have presented can easily be broken down and analyzed using George Orwell’s theory. Any belief that can be thought of can be analyzed using this very same method. As informed individuals, we need to consider these sorts of things before we accept anything as fact. Through careful analysis of the truth of an individual belief, we can trim down on a lot of our false beliefs and begin to find enlightenment and…
