Kobe Bryant's 7 Habits
Have you ever had an idol? Have you ever had someone, who you might not even know, inspire you and make an everlasting impression on your life? How about someone who left you in awe from the moment you first saw them? That's how it was and still is for me, with my idol, Kobe Bryant. For as long as I can remember, I've been encapsulated by the Mamba. It's hard to explain how and why, but what started out as watching him play basketball has turned into a full blown obsession. As I had gotten older, I had begun to be inspired by his mentality, and I began to carry that same mentality with me. He became a huge inspiration to me. I had begun to wonder, what made him so special for me, why Kobe?
I've been a fan of the Mamba for as long as I can

For one, Habit 2, Begin With the End in Mind, goes with the whole mamba mentality, at least in a way. In order to work hard and strive for your goals, you first need to know your goals and have everything in mind. So habit 2 and "Mamba Mentality" go hand in hand. Sharpen the Saw, Habit 7, works with the mentality, because part of these "Mamba" thoughts is to work hard and do your best, and sharpen the saw says renew yourself and stay at your best mentally and physically. In order to do your best, you need to be your best. So once again, both go hand in hand and work together.
Still today, I carry the "Mamba Mentality" with me and use it all the time. Now, I know I won't be an NBA superstar, but I still have other passions, and things that I do, and I want to excel at them, and do the best I can. Currently that involves school and getting good grades. Later it could mean something different. Kobe taught me many lessons, and helped me learn. I was inspired when I watched him play. I will forever carry that mentality with me, and will strive to do the best and try to be the best at everything I do. All of this, because of Kobe. Thank you, Mamba, you have forever changed my life. Thank

Following Michael Jordans footsteps again, Rose became the first NBA all-star on the Bulls since Jordan was named an all-star in 1998. Rose’s third season could be considered his most successful, one of his best games was on January 17 2011. I remember sitting upstairs at my house, wearing my cobalt blue Adidas DRose 2.5s, watching the Bulls play the Grizzlies. The whole game Derrick seemed to be controlling the court, he flew up and down the light colored hardwood finding many creative ways to put the little orange ball in the little orange hoop. Derrick finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists, recording his first triple double. I was amazed by his performance and began to watch as many Bull’s games as I could, just to see him play. After more great performances Rose lead his Bulls team to a 62-20 record and Derrick won the NBA’s most valuable player award. At age 22 Derrick Rose was the youngest person to ever be named the MVP of the league, breaking a 47 year old record. When he won the MVP he inspired me by the way he overcame a hard situation to become one of the greatest athletes in the NBA and he also made me believe that if I worked hard like he did I could accomplish my…

Since I was 7 years old, basketball has played an integral part of my life. I have devoted countless hours to not just a sport, but a passion, an outlet; to the game that I love. When I arrived at Bow Middle School as a fifth grader, my classmates and I would always look up to the 7th and 8th grade middle school basketball teams. Every year during winter carnival, the boys and girls teams would play a game in front of the entire school. Playing in that game became a dream and a goal of mine, but first I would need to make the team. For three years I developed my basketball skills, using my passion for the sport and desire to play in that game as motivation. When tryouts for basketball in 8th grade drew near, I knew I was ready. However a new coach would be at the helm this year. Our new basketball coach was also a coach for the youth football program. This resulted in numerous football…
