Once the other titles were being awarded, it was time for my favourite part of the night, the PROM BALL. Everybody was really enjoying with all the dancing and singing, I even saw Teacher Phil and Teacher Kath break dance in front of all of us! The slow dances were nice too, I got to dance with MY “prom date” and my other friends. From then on, we just all continued to enjoy and for sure it was A NIGHT I COULD NEVER EVER FORGET It was magical and full of memories (even though I embarrassed myself hehe). I believe this will go with us throughout our years and we will reminisce these times someday. I want to thank my teachers and classmates for making this event possible and memorable too! This Junior-Senior Promenade will definitely be one of the best moments of my life, and I am thankful to GOD for that. I could never replace these moments for anything because the people around me that night won a very special place in my heart. I am still looking forward to making more memories with my Senior Timberwolves though because I know this is not yet over. This is just the beginning.

When I turned fourteen, I had a long talk with my parents about my big day only being a year away and how we needed to start with all of the preparations. The first thing I look for was my dress. In my vision, it was the most beautiful, shiny, and spongy dress. I wanted to be a princess for a day. One day after school my older sister, Carolina, had a magazine with prom dresses in it. Since she was a senior, she was on the looking for a dress too. As we saw the magazine, we found a lot of pretty dresses and told my mom to take us shopping, so that Carolina could try some on. As we arrived to the store "Glitz and Glamour", we found out they sold quinceañera dresses as well. My mom asked the employee to bring us some quinceañera dress magazines, while Caro and I watched the magazines for prom dresses. Suddenly, I stumbled upon a beautiful, green, shiny dress. It was perfect. As soon as I saw it, I said, "Mom, I want this dress for my quinceañera." We told the lady that I wanted the dress and she explained that it was available in pink and green. Since I had fallen in love with the color, I told my mom I wanted it in green, but since the tradition is pink, it was obvious that my mom was going to say no. I disagreed with my mom and ordered it green. The lady told us that my dress would arrive in four days. I was…

Back in summer of 2014 all of our friends were so excited for the new year. We were going to be in 8th grade, at the top of the food chain at our Junior High. Not only were we excited about all the different things we were going to be able to do as 8th grader, like take chinese or year round spanish if you're into that. But what we were focusing on the eye of the prize, the 8th grade dance. The best part about this dance was that it wasn’t any ordinary dance, everyone had to be dressed up in nice clothes or otherwise they would be asked to leave. This…

Now that the 23 of November has arrived and I’m here in New York sitting in the Cipriani Venue, it’s only become even more surreal. On the outside of where the awards are being held a sign reads: The 2013 Literarian Awards. The inside of the venue is remarkable and grandiose with large, beautiful columns surrounding the room. The ceiling standing tall with a circular indent right in the center modeled after the Greek style. Black and orange all around the room, contrasting so well that they add a pop to the place. Even the crowd with their low murmurs and gestures create a wonderful atmosphere. As I sit here and…

This year the experience was much more different for me because it was a month into me moving on campus and I was beginning to feel a little homesick. I invited my mom to join me in the festivities and, as usual, we had an awesome time. Before we sat down to eat, we walked around looking at stands that were set up by various sororities, frats, and organizations. While eating we watched the mini parade that featured the UAM band, cheerleaders, and football team. Also, we enjoyed watching the excitement on the little kids faces, when getting their faces painted and getting a balloon made of their favorite characters. Later, we joined everyone to watch the Boll Weevil host the Arkansas Tech. Sadly, they were defeated by Arkansas tech,…
