Job Essay - 9th Grade-Graphic Design)
I am a very artistic, social, and creative person. Due to these traits that I possess, the opportunity to be a Graphic Designer truly peaks my interests. A Graphic Designer consists of many attributes to fulfill the job. These attributes are creative and disciplined communication skills, working well under pressure, and having good customer service skills. Overall, a Graphic Designer is a person who prepares final products such as posters or websites for businesses’ in terms of marketing. Although I do have the specific traits and attributes essential for the job, I still have yet to acquire the crucial knowledge needed to become a formal Graphic Designer. In this essay, I plan to assess those needs so that I can understand just what it takes to be a part of this career choice.
The first search necessary to pursue the career of Graphic Designing is the education and the training required. The first and common step made is simply obtaining a high school diploma. Many classes taken during high school such as art, English, and computer related classes can all have positive effects on your career choice. Depending on your employers opinion, you may need consecutive college years leading to a degree or you could simply take a few training courses in Graphic Design. Yet, more often than not employers tend to look for those who have received a bachelor’s degree which require four years in college. If obtaining a bachelor’s degree is not an option for you, you can also take a 2 year course in college for an associate’s degree with classes directly focused on Graphic Design. Yet again, many employers tend to look for those who hold bachelor’s degrees. The last and most important step that often decides whether you have the opportunity to get the job or not is an organized portfolio entailing examples of your best work. This will show your artistic ability and effort you have put forward.
Another important factor in deciding your career is your talents, job

Throughout the course of my junior year, I have been challenged to be the best artist of my ability. As a graphic designer, I have learned to view things in a different light and learned to express my creativity. Although I am still learning new things everyday about how to become a better artist, I have improved tremendously in every way ranging from the thought process all the way to finalizing each project, and I think that as the days go by I will continue to do well in my high school graphic design career, but in continuing my education in this major and working in a field closely related to it. I have produced at least 5 projects that reflect my passion for graphic design including the New York World’s Fair, currency recreation, and the handmade film poster from the first semester of my junior year and from the second half up until my most recent project, a book jacket, and an organic drink package design.…

In Victor Margolin’s article “Rebellion, Reform, and Revolution: American Graphic Design for Social Change,” he does well in presenting Graphic Designers and their contributions to political and social change throughout history. The psychological and social impact of Graphic Design requires designers to have both morals and ethics. There are many tools a designer has to use at their exposal, such as: political public opinion, psychology, and media influence.…

This alone, the power to inspire the world of fashion , would be enough to make me want to become a designer, but designing clothes is also a way of expressing yourself. Each designer is unique and thus the clothes that each create are just as unique. Although the job of a fashion designer may seem easy, there are many abilities involved in the job. Some of these abilities, which I posses, include a love for fashion, understanding of color and combinations of color, and the ability to convey design ideas through pictures. Along with the possessed above qualities, taking clothing classes in school has made me realize the many ideas that I have for clothing and becoming a fashion designer would allow me to convey these ideas to those around me.…
