Introduction to Organizational Behavior
1. Define Organizational Behavior (OB)? Answer:-

Organizational Behavior is the study of individuals and their behavior within the context of the organization in a workplace setting for the purpose of applying such knowledge toward improving an organization’s effectiveness.

2. Define and provide a workplace example for each of the four management functions described by Henri Fayol? Answer:-

a. Planning: - Is a process that includes defining goals, establishing strategy and developing plans coordinates activities.
b. Controlling: - Evaluate how well the organization is achieving goals and take action to maintain, improve and correct performance.
c. Organizing: - Determining what tasks is to be done who is to do them, how the tasks are to be grouped, who reports to whom, and where a decision is to be made.
d. Leading: - Encourage and coordinate individuals and groups so that they work effective communication channels, and resolving conflicts.
3. Describe the three essential management skills that differentiate effective managers from ineffective ones. Provide a workplace example of how these skills could be used when dealing with the challenge of a workplace recession? Answer:-

i. Technical Skills: - The ability to apply specialized knowledge or expertise. ii. Human Skills: - The ability to work with, understand and motivate other people both individually and in groups. iii. Conceptual Skills: - The mental ability to analyze and diagnose complex situations.
