Breast Cancer Statistics
Does anyone know some of the breast cancer statistics? Or maybe some of the risk factors? Well breast cancer is one of the leading deaths in women. Today I will inform you about some of those statics and risk and hopefully by the end of my speech you’ll know some of the people who are more likely to get breast cancer. The most significant factors for breast cancer are gender and age, two things that are beyond our control. Although men get breast cancer too, women’s breast cells are constantly changing and growing, due to the activity of the female hormones; estrogen and progesterone. This activity puts them at risk for breast cancer. Simply growing older is the second biggest factor for breast cancer. From age 30 to 39, the risk is 1 in 233, that jumps to 1 in 27 by the time you’re in your 60s. Approximately 2/3 of invasive breast cancers are diagnosed in women age 55 or older …show more content…
