Fitness and Nutrition Paper Fitness and nutritional habits should be more enforced in today’s society; especially in the United States. The general public as a whole is less healthy the prior days. People are not as active, make poor eating choices, are indoors more often and always on the run. This is the results to an unhealthy culture. By changing our day to day habits by incorporating healthy meal planning and exercise we can beat this growing change. As for my current fitness and nutritional habits they are improved than they were a few months past. I use to eat on the go, never work-out and essentially do what was quick, easy, and convenient. I have had some life changes which have made all this change. I am getting married in a little over four months. I have begun to plan out my weekly meals with thought and I have begun to exercise a few nights a week. I know is still need to tweak my habits a bit however, I feel as though I am heading down the correct path. I am sure if I did not work on my health behavior I would have eventually been at a condition that would difficult to get out of. People who carry on my prior eating way of life tend become obese. Obesity is an extremely serious health concern among society today. Obesity can result to many health risk. The most common of these health risks are heart disease; which results to heart attack, congestive heart failure, sudden cardiac death, and chest pains. Another huge risk is the psychological and social effects obesity can have on someone. These health risk can be avoided my making simple nutritional and fitness changes. Personally for myself I can incorporate more than a few fitness habits that will improve my way of life. I have begun to work-out however; I can start to this more frequent. I currently exercise maybe one or two times weekly. My increase my exercise frequency to three to

At 6 '0" and approximately 210 lbs with a BMI (body mass index) of 28 I am considered overweight and very close to being obese according to the website weight-loss.emedtv.com. I am positive that my current and very poor fitness and nutritional habits are the main cause of my depleting health status as well as my current overweight status. Asking me to explain my current fitness and nutritional habits is basically superfluous. My current fitness habit includes nothing more than the occasional golf or bowling outing, and it does not happen more than once every 2-3 months. My current nutritional habits are just as bad if not worse. Typically I only eat once or twice a day and normally they are very large portions of generally unhealthy foods. For example this past Thursday I managed to eat two medium pizzas from Pizza Hut in one sitting and on Saturday I ate two foot long sandwiches from Subway within about 40 minutes. My fitness and nutritional habits have been the same for years and I know that they are the reason that I am so close to being considered obese. There are a number of health risks associated with obesity. According to WebMD.com "Obesity is not just a cosmetic problem, it 's a health hazard. Someone who is 40% overweight is twice as likely to die prematurely as is an average-weight person. This is because obesity has been linked to several serious medical conditions". Some of the health risks that are associated with obesity include: Heart disease and stroke, High blood pressure, Diabetes, Cancer, Gallbladder disease and gallstones, Osteoarthritis, and Breathing problems, such as asthma. The three-day diet analysis was interesting. There were many positive attributes to it and definitely negative ones. Over the course of the three days, which were Friday, Saturday and Sunday: and figured this would give a good depiction of what I was consuming on a regular basis. In some places I was consuming more than I should be and in some I was consuming less than I should be. There were also those places were I was getting just the right amount. It is so interesting to me to be able to find out what I am consuming and how I am consuming it. Being an active male, it was most interesting of what I ate, what my average of the three days were, and the plan on how I would correct the way I eat to make it a more healthier lifestyle.…

Overtime I made the decision to make changes in my eating habits by limiting junk food to once a day and making several small changes such as replacing acidic drinks and juices for water with meals. Over time, I became to recognize that I may have been born with poor genetics as I assessed my father and brothers figure. Our ability to burn fat is disadvantaged to some others. The United States is a nation that moves in the fast lane and creates unhealthy habits; we spend more time at work and driving that there is no more time to spend on creating a healthy lifestyle. The extra hours we spend driving to and from work every day cuts in to the time that we have in our daily lives to properly prepare a healthy and nutritional meal plan. With these time constraints we often look to a very quick and simple meal; fast food is so accessible with a franchise on every corner we tend to stop in and pickup takeout without even a second to ponder what we are feeding our bodies.…
