Following the Great Depression and the presidency of Herbert Hoover, Franklin D. Roosevelt assumed the presidency. When FDR took office he used democratic policies to attempt to lift America out of poverty. The administration of FDR increased the role of the Federal government and attempted to address reform, relief, and recovery of the US. As he took office he faced problems such as unemployment, bank failures, and mass poverty. FDR created several policies to address the economic downfall, such as the AAA, NIRA, and Social Security. These gave jobs to thousands of Americans, providing reform and relief, but it wasn't until World War 2 that completely lifted America out of the depression. FDR’s administration was successful with reform and relief, but not recovery.…

Was Lincoln, FDR, Washington, or Jefferson the best president? The answer to this question is a state of opinion. In my opinion, FDR is the best president. While others may say, Washington was the first president or Lincoln helped the Union stay together, FDR concurred both a war and a financial struggle. FDR was a strong human being and overcame polio. FDR got us out of the Great Depression, concurred polio, and led the Allies to win World War Two. This is why FDR was the greatest president.…

Who is Abigail Williams? is she a liar, a witch or is she really just an honest soul trying to prove her innocence? Some people could relate to Abigail, but those people are probably the liars and cheats of this world. Abigail Williams is one of the characters that made the least number of changes in The Crucible. Abigail's lies never changed throughout The Crucible and she continued to be deceptive. She refused to tell what happened in the woods and she lied about seeing people with the devil. In the beginning Abigail is denying all the things Paris saw when he ventured into the woods and discovered the girls dancing in a circle naked around Tituba. Near the middle of The Crucible Abigail continues to lie about the situation and the people she blamed. Then in the end Abigail remained the same and vanished without a trace.…

There are many presidents that have left an influential mark on American society, but one president stands out among them all for fulfilling a successful presidency during undesirable times. Franklin Delano Roosevelt took over office after President Herbert Hoover’s term and during the worst economic downfall the United States has ever faced. FDR acted as the voice for the Americans who were typically looked over in society. FDR was unlike most president because he connected with Americans through his fireside chats that would be broadcasted over the radio. Fireside chats were used to inform Americans of the current events and the decisions that the White House was going to make on certain issues. FDR did a remarkable job of keeping his polio out of the public eye, but even having a disability did not keep him from making such a positive impact on the American economy.…
