The sequence of developmental process is divided into four main areas which are;
Physical development
Communication and language development
Intellectual and cognitive development
Social, emotional, behavioural and moral development.

The rate of development is the speed in which they achieve these which is linked to age, for example; whilst one baby may reach the milestone of walking unaided at 10 months, another may achieve this at 12 months and another at 16 months.
The difference between the two is vital as they both play an important role in identifying the successes of a child; individually they both support the charting of a childâ€TMs development and provide a structure that can identify any need of additional support.

Answer: Influences that may affect a child or young persons development could be physical or emotional but the main influence would be the childs parents. The parents are there to nurture, love and care for the child. Most parents want their child to succeed and have the best life possible. This influence starts from the child being born. This is also known as the attachment
