Barkerville is one of the most, if not the most well known historic towns in British Columbia. It was the largest town in the Cariboo, conveniently located on the western edge of the Cariboo Mountains. It grew rapidly, before suddenly becoming almost forgotten, with a ghost town emerging in its place. How could such a thriving town, that was so full of life, be forgotten, to be allowed to die??The tale of Barkerville began with a young sailor form England; Billy Barker. After some time searching, he finally struck it rich in eighteen- sixty two when he uncovered gold in Williams Creek in the Cariboo area. The news of his finding spread like wild fire, and miners flocked to the area, hoping that they too might strike it rich. The miners travelled to the area and found the town newly christened as…

For the preventative maintenance plan to be effective, preventative maintenance checks should be done daily, weekly, monthly, and annually. At each interval, there should be a different set of checks to be completed, much like the preventative maintenance that is done on an automobile. For information systems, care should be given to ensure that equipment is clean and is staying in operational shelf life.…

Osborne’s past experiences combined with his intuitive nature contributed to his effective team leadership of the Red Tops. All the principles employed by Osborne are applicable to building cohesive teams in any industry or environment. The most meaningful take-away from Osborne’s team leadership of the Red Tops to me is his steadfast integrity and commitment relative to guiding individual talents toward the goals of the band. I am currently the team lead for the North Dakota Army National Guard’s consolidated property book office. Osborne’s examples…

Crime is a major problem in our world today. Some people in our country live in fear that they will be the next victim of a crime; they could be robbed, raped, or even murdered. There are so many theories on how to stop crime. One of the theories is the use of the death penalty as a deterrent. There are a lot of issues that surround that idea that make the use of the death penalty just as bad as the accused committing murder. It is very contradictive, inconsistent, and unethical. Although some people believe that the death penalty deters crime, there are many arguments against it. For example, the costs are extremely high, racism is involved, and there are innocent people on death row to list a few.…
