Short Corners
When I first started hockey, I was training against the first team, but mainly against a German international on the weekend. Because of this I had to face a much better quality of shooting and skill. Although I found it hard to save his flicks, the ones I did save gave me confidence, as he was almost 3 years older than me at the time and I had only been playing properly for the last 2 months or so. Moving on to the present, I would far rather a short corner compared to a free hit outside the D because I have practiced this routine for so long, whereas a free hit could result in many different types of situations. I also know however that I need to put more time into

By practicing footwork drills I can then work on taking my time with the shot and making sure it does what I want it to do.
My backhand is one of my weaker shots. I’ve been trying to get it right, and I made the mistake of trying to go to two handed which made it worse because I had to start again and lost the little skill I had by playing a one handed shot. I need to practice keeping my racquet flat and not try and add to much top spin because I try to hard and hit the ball with the bottom of my racquet which sends it flying in any random direction.
I should practice backhands from feeds. I would need someone to feed me a range of balls to my back hand and I should try to hit different parts of the court marked out by cones, as I progress the feeds should become harder until it is rallying with the

    Racquet Head Analysis

After recording both my overhead smash and overhead clear, I was able to evaluate my foot movement, body position and the speed of the racquet head. As seen in the videos recording in week 3 of the unit, my feet are not always in the right position. This means that I didn’t move my feet quickly enough to get in a position where I can hit the shuttlecock with strong and stable feet. This then causes my body to be at an awkward angle in which I can’t get the full potential out of my racquet, which then leads to lack of racquet head speed. To be able to fix these problems, I will have to move my feet quicker so I can get myself under the shuttlecock and hit it with the full speed it requires to either go over my player or smash right in front…

As all basketball players should know, taking care of the ball is an essential part of the game. Not only do guards need to be able to dribble, but forwards and centers can benefit from this skill as well. You do not simply obtain quick handles like an NBA point guard overnight. Keeping a low stance might be exhausting, but the more you practice it, the more endurance you will have for the game when you actually need it. It was the championship game of my 8th grade AJAA basketball season and my team was down one point and with two seconds left. The point guard Alex passed me the ball under the basket and as I was going up for the shot, I got fouled. I stepped up to the free throw line cool and composed and banked in my first free throw. I wiped the sweat off my forehead and without hesitating; I knocked down the second free throw. I won the championship game for my team because I knew how to make free throws. Free throws are without a doubt one of the most important aspects in basketball, and as history shows, they win championships. Although most people…

Basketball is a very physically demanding sport. To be able to play this sport, you must be in the best physical shape possible and to do this you must condition your body for the stress you will put it under. First, you will have to learn how to do an exercise called suicides. To do this you will start at one end of the court where the goals are located. You will be running the length of the court rather than the width. It doesn’t matter where you start. You can start at any point along this line. Next, run to the free throw line, and touch this line. Sprint back to the baseline, then to the half court line. Touch this line as well before returning to the baseline you started from. After you complete the suicides then you will go to the next training and that is how to shoot a ball, then you will learn plays, and when that is all finish you are ready to play basketball.…

    1. My number one weakness in Netball is my balance whilst shooting. And to be a sharp shooter you need balance. One way to improve my balance would be standing on the balance boards and try shooting or get someone else to pass the ball to me and I have to try and catch it without losing balance. And by practicing this and remembering to stand with my feet shoulder width apart and keep my body straight and to balance the ball on my fingertips of one hand and use your other hand to steady it. And if I focus on behind the net, bend my knees and shoot. I will become a sharp shooter.…

Since I have decided to become a better volleyball player, I will condition and study the sport. First, every day I will go to the gym, run for fifteen minutes to help with my endurance and lift weights every other day, such as squatting and deadlifting. By going to the gym, it will help me to keep up with my more advanced volleyball friends during long rallies and long games. In order to help with my volleyball skills, I plan on going to local San Jose open gyms. At the open gyms, I will focus on hustling so that every time I pass the ball I am behind it. While passing I will be in a low squat on the balls of my feet, my shoulders shrugged, and eyes always on the volleyball. When I am setting I will still be on the balls of my feet, knees…
