Examples Of Eulogy For Alaska
TRIBUTE TO ALASKA
[ALASKA THRILLS]
Because Alaska’s home to me
And since I’ve lived in this great land
In verses Heaven’s bliss I see
And marvel at the Grace God planned
A tribute to this land I sing
Where glacial rivers winding bring
Huge Pinks, and Reds, and Kings to spawn
In places men have never gone
White peaks pierce clouds where eagles soar
And deep through canyons North winds roar
Like rows of soldiers White Birch stand
So tall and straight and give this land
A special beauty all its own
Where many treasures great are grown
Though briefly Summer Season stays
While here, upon the tundra lays
The Fireweed in raging reds
On hillsides burning carpet spreads
Rich indigo of Lupine plants
Beneath clear azure skies entrance
Dwarf Dogwood and the Devil’s Club

There are no gifts beneath our tree
Or fancy things for you and me
That came in boxes or with bows.
We do not have a need for those
Because we have the special things
The knowledge of His Sweet Love brings
In counting gifts He sent to please us
The first, the greatest: Christ Jesus
Who lived and died so long ago
So in our lifetime we would know
True Grace, forgiveness, and could be
Through Him, in joy and ecstasy
The second gift, with Love He gave
So we need never fear the grave
And though one day we’ll draw no breath
We need not have a fear of death
For, through the first, from death He frees us
To share Eternity with Jesus.
The last, of these most precious gifts
By which our spirits He uplifts:
The special Love that we now know
As more in love each day we grow
So blessed while we are living here
Until, at last, He draws us near.
We are so blessed and, so we raise
Our voice in song and hands in praise
And on this special Christmas Day
We pause to thank Him and to say
Some special words for all the things
Just loving one another bringd

The Anglo-Saxon time period was full of exceptional warriors where epic poems were commonly used by monks to educate the people of England, for much of the population was illiterate. These spoken poems were made for either entertainment purposes or to send a special message. While some poems talk about exciting battles and brute strength, “The Wanderer” is a lament. Filled with strife and loss, the unknown poet uses anaphora, tone, and diction to help create a melancholic tone.…
