As an English instructor I carry out one of the most vital jobs to the general public. As an educator of English studies, I educate juvenile minds how to read, write, spell, think seriously and use correct grammar. As a teacher I show my interest for literature, writing, grammar and vocabulary. Like most teachers they work with individuals from a? wide variety of ethnic backgrounds which can present a challenge because of the verbal communication barriers. By having so much variety this offers a huge opening to use foreign arts skills to construct, study and distribute information from different point of views and thoughts.…

In the early 1800's, America started to get interested in Hawaii, as the weather and land were ideal for agriculture. So, Americans entered Hawaii and supported its growth as they took numerous types of activities such as introducing coffee, pineapple as new crops and making the sugar industry larger. In the late part of the 1800's, although the agriculture was succeeding there were two problems. Firstly, due to illnesses and the rapid growth, there weren't enough workers. Secondly, local workers salary was too high. To solve this problem, farms started to get lots of cheaper workers from other countries. Starting from…

School counselors in Hawaii are licensed through the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board (HTSB). School counselors in Hawaii are not required to have a masters degree, however this may preclude those without a masters degree from being able to administer, score, and interpret some assessments (Naugle, 2009; State of Hawaii, 2015). For instance, standard 3 specifies that school counselors provide accurate and relevant interpretation of assessment data; standard 9 specifies that school counselors use program assessments to evaluate the school counseling program (State of Hawaii, 2015).…

During the 1900’s, the United States tried to force assimilation of the Native Americans into American society. Native American children were sent to boarding school to gain an education and civilize them based on white American standards. When they were sent to off-reservation schools boys were taught agricultural procedures and manual arts, while the girls were taught domestic skills. Native American tribes all around the United States were conflicted on whether they should send their children or not to off-reservation schools due to them losing their culture and way of life by Native American standards.…

I hoping that it will allow me to gain a better, balanced understanding of teaching and why we do all the little things that we do everyday.
