Bvi: explain how your role contributes to the overall delivery of the service provided My role contributes to the service provided as, as an organisation we are able to carry out the direct personal care for all residents including washing dressing, feeding assisting with toileting and bed making in accordance with the individual residents care plans and the key worker description. Also ensuring we assist in routine of an individual of the residents if requested, referring all matters and matters of concern to the registered nurse on duty. Also, being able to give specific nursing care when needed but only if directed and instructed on technique. It is important that any changes in condition of any of the residents are immediately reported to the registered nurse on duty, not to just be ignored and left. Every member of staff must follow with established policies and procedures within the home. Also training, staff meeting and training courses must be attended. Bvi explain how you could influence the quality of the service provided by; a) following best practice within your work role;

Following best practice within my work role enables me to provide safe and good practise. It enables me to work well as a team member, and also allows me to maintain my skills and learn which helps me gain knowledge allowing me to share this with my other colleagues. Following best practice maintains to keep me updated with all the legislations and local along with national policy, enabling me to provide care safely and appropriate. Also, I am able to expand on my communication skills and use them when needed. b) Not carrying out the requirements of your role;
