1.0 Introduction Enrollment System is the must have system in a school. It is a convenient way of storing and retrieving information of a student that provides more easy way in enrolling. The system was proposed in replacement of the manual process of enrollment in public high school for it to have an organized flow of transaction and an ease of work and it would help the high school department of Zapatera National High School in simplifying its enrollment procedures and record keeping management system. Zapatera National High School is still using a manual process of enrollment for its high school department. The system is designed for selected faculty members and staff to enable them to easily produce information required by the different students in the high school.
1.1 Background of the Study Zapatera National High School is located at the Sikatuna Street near in the Dept of Education – Division of Cebu City. The school principal is Mr. Roy Guarin. Last year they change the name of the school Zapatera Night High School into a Zapatera National High School because they are now have a day class and evening class. The population of their students in the day session is 4k+ and in the evening session is 3k+.
1.2 Statement of the Problem 1.2.1 General Problem
Manual Enrollment System is the main problem which causes a slow processing of enrollment. 1.2.2 Specific Problem
Difficulty in retrieving of records.
Hard accessing student’s profile.
Mixing records of the students.
1.3 Objectives of the Study 1.3.1 General Objectives
Since the school encountered problem on using manual in their enrollment system, our group decided to have a computerized enrollment system for it would surely lessen the burden which they have encountered right now. 1.3.2 Specific Objectives
To have an easy retrieval of records.
To have easier access on individual profile of students.
To separate the records of the students.
1.4 Significance of the Study This enrollment system will surely help and make their work more reliable, easier and faster. By this system it can cater a good service to the students. These are the following people that can benefit this system:
Registrar
They can easily locate or find the records of the following students without taking time to look for it.
Students
They can easily encode their subjects without having a pressure or wasting time in looking for their respective subjects, by this they can lessen their time and effort.
Proponents
We the proponents will be able to know the data’s and codes needed to opearate an enrolment system that would surely add our knowledge regarding how this system would work in an enrolment . Aside from that, we can challenge ourselves in generating a system that could help students like us.
Future Proponents
This study can help future proponents and can be their guide in their future research subjects.
1.5 Scope and Limitations This study aim to develop an enrollment system for the Zapatera National High School. It can easily manage the information of a student. This system is responsible for the enrolment of old and new students. It has an ability to save record and edit those data and important information about the students. The data base limits on the following fields:
The system is not online.
The system is not responsible for managing the whole enrollment process, especially on the setting up of enrolment procedures and other important enrolment function.
Computation of grades are not included in the system.
The system can’t produce output but it can only store the student data.
The System does not include the attendance monitoring of students and teacher.
The System cannot handle payments.
Only authorized person are allowed to use the system.
