Clothing rivals such as Penney’s, Marks and Spencer and Debenhams.
Partnership problems.

Structure:
Initially Dunnes Stores started off with a simple structure with only one store established in 1944 in Patrick Street in cork. Then, in 1963, Dunne grouped his growing number of stores under a new corporate structure, Dunne’s Holding Company, which took over ownership of the entire operation. Now in 2015 the structure of Dunnes Stores has changed to a divisional structure due to the growth of sales, profits, staff and company expansion spanning to 5 countries.

Dunne’s stores was established in 1944 by its founder Ben Dunne. Dunnes Stores is a retail chain that primarily sells food, clothes and household wares. Dunnes stores employs almost 15,000 employees spanning over 155 stores in 5 different countries. Although it is not known worldwide it is still a well-recognised retail chain. Dunnes currently controls 23.5% of the market share. On the 31st of October 2014 Dunnes stores had an overall turnover of 3.4billion.
