Dtmf Based Device Control
aUTOMATED DEVICE CONTROL USING DTMF.

ABSTRACT Now a day's every system is automated in order to face new challenges in the present day situation. Automated systems have less manual operations, so that the flexibility, reliabilities are high and accurate. Hence every field prefers automated control systems. Especially in the field of electronics automated systems are doing better performance. Probably the most useful thing to know about the global system for mobile communication is that it is an international standard. If you travel in parts of world, GSM is only type of cellular service available. Instead of analog services, GSM (DTMF) was developed as a digital system using TDMA technology.
OBJECTIVE:
The goal of the project is to develop a system, which uses Mobile technology that keeps control of the various units of the automobiles, which executes with respect to the signal sent by the mobile. For utilization of appliances the new concept has been thought to manage them remotely by using GSM (DTMF), which enables the user to remotely control switching of domestic appliances. Just by dialing keypad of remote telephone, from where you are calling you can perform ON / OFF operation of the appliances. The ranges of appliances that can be controlled through tele remote systems are many in numbers. Some of them are as follows and this depends upon the usage priority of the appliances i.e. Industrial appliances, Music System or other electrical / electronic appliances.
SOFTWARE REQUIREMENT:
1. KEIL MICRO VISION-3
2. MICRO FLASH
3. ORCHAD

HARDWARE REQUIREMENT:
1. MICROCONTROLLER (89S52)
2. ULN2003.
3. POWER SUPPLY.
4. DC MOTOR.
5. DTMF HT9170B.
6. RELAYS

The typical American family has on average four remote controls in their household. Look around the room and count how many you have in your house. I count five in just this room alone, not including the wireless mouse and keyboard I am using right now to type this paper. Everyone has seen remote controls for televisions, VCRs, and stereos. However, can you imagine a remote control that can also control lights, the temperature, drapes, and even the front door lock! Remote controls have come along way since their first uses mainly for military purposes during WWI and WWII. There have been many different types of remote controls invented, some, which have helped society develop, and others that have led to our demise. Throughout this paper, you will learn about how the many different uses of remote controls have helped accomplish tasks once inconceivable by a human alone, but also have led western civilization into a "lazy" society. In addition, you will learn about the man who invented the first wireless remote control and other types of remotes used in modern day technology.…

A control system is a collection of components working together under the direction of some machine intelligence. In most cases, electronic circuits provide the intelligence, and electromechanical components such as sensors and motors provide the interface to the physical world. A good example is the modern automobile. Various sensors supply the on-board computer with information about the engine’s condition. The computer then calculates the precise amount of fuel to be injected into the engine and adjusts the ignition timing. The mechanical parts of the system include the engine, transmission, wheels, and so on. To design, diagnose, or repair these sophisticated…

The input voltage must always be higher than the output voltage by some minimum amount (typically 1.5 to 2 volts) . 7805 is a linear voltage regulator, so it is not very efficient and it has drop out voltage problem. As they are based on a linear regulator design, the input current required is always the same as the output current. As the input voltage must always be higher than the output voltage, this means that the total power (voltage multiplied by current) going into the 78xx will be more than the output power provided. The extra input power is dissipated as heat. This means both that for some applications an adequate heatsink must be provided, and also that a (often substantial) portion of the input power is wasted during the process, rendering them less efficient than some other types of power supplies7805 IC has a thermal shutdown feature to protect the IC in case of overheating so it should be safe to use 7805 without a heatsink plate for less than 200mA load. However should your load cross 200mA, you should consider using a heatsink plate. Heatsink plate should be large enough to bring 7805 heat to such a level that you can comfortably touch it…

Figure 1 shows the layout of a generic GSM network. The GSM network can be divided into three broad parts. The Mobile Station is carried by the subscriber, the Base Station Subsystem controls the radio link with the Mobile Station. The Network Subsystem, the main part of which is the Mobile services Switching Center, performs the switching of calls between the mobile and other fixed or mobile network users, as well as management of mobile services, such as authentication. Not shown is the Operations and Maintenance center, which oversees the proper operation and setup of the network. The Mobile Station and the Base Station Subsystem communicate across the Um interface, also known as the air interface or radio link.
