THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUD
Most companies nowadays use computers in transacting with their clients. Companies are now making their systems computerized because using a computerized system will help the company minimize the time and efforts consumed by using manual system. A sale refers to the exchange of product or services for an amount of money or its equivalent while Inventory in a business, is a total amount of goods and the act of counting them. A company owner must know the precise number of items in their storage areas in order to place orders and control losses. Computerizing both Sales and Inventory System will make an easier and faster transaction with the customers as well as monitoring the stocks of the products. The benefit of Point of Sale with Inventory system is that this system makes a business much more efficient, lowering the costs of running the business while improving customer service and making the business more pleasant to work in while Computerized inventory system helps management control the inventories, in turn lowering overall operating costs in the areas of labor, facilities and logistics. A computerized inventory system also improves customer-service metrics and fulfilment rates.
Therefore we are introducing our Digitalize Point of Sale System (DPOSS) for Cake-O-holic cake shop. The system that can lessen the work for Calculating and Saving the given files. The researcher believes that the conduction of the study might provide the valuable information to the development of Point of sale system as an alternative system. For the educational theorist and researchers interested in Point of Sale System, it is hoped that the study also contributes to better understanding the nature of Point of Sale. Besides the researcher also hopes that the research will contribute to set up a feasible Point of Sale & offer suggestions for the given Research. 1.2Background of the Study
A Point-of-Sale System is the frontend of a retail shop or cake shop. It is needed by large store to keep track of cafeteria credits consumed. The timing of the request for this system and the availability of technology to make it cheaply possible is important to the goal of the project. The author had been implementing thin client linux workstations both for production and laboratory/academic use. The Linux Terminal Server Project (LTSP) is the thin client technology to be used. The availability of the free user interface designer tool, Glade, and the free C/C++ compiler, GNU C Compiler, makes this project more realizable. Since the project is critical to the operation of the Cafeteria, it was found suitable to add server hot redundancy to ensure high-availability and the Linux-HA Project was chosen for this. Wireless Application Protocol, Short Messaging System, and Interactive Voice Response System technologies will help students inquire about their cafeteria account balance and expiry dates of cafeteria credits. All the technologies to be used have been around for at least six months and are being used in production environments according to their respective websites. The author will apply these technologies in this thesis-project to satisfy the operational requirements of the cake-o-holic cake shop. 1.3 Theoretical Framework
The proponent proposed the DPOSS is deliberately composed stocks develop. DPOSS needs a storage that means a room, building or area to store the item.
