Dietary Fiber

Dietary Fiber is the parts of plant that resist digestive enzymes. A few definitions of dietary fibers are nondigestible carbohydrates and lignin that are intrinsic and intact in plants. nondigestible carbohydrates and lignin that are intact in plants. Another definition is the edible parts of plants or analogous carbohydrates that are resistant to digestion and absorption in the human small intestine, with complete or partial fermentation in the large intestine. Dietary Fiber are not necessary for our body, but they do help us out alot. Dietary Fibers are a necessary part of life and healthy living. Dietary Fibers contribute no calorie to our body. The fibers travel to the colon because the enzymes in the stomach cannot break down the fibers to use them in any other part of the body. The colon has bacteria in it that are able to ferment the fibers . This occurs after the fibers have moved through the body. Dietary fiber also pose another benefit. They also bind water as they pass quickly through the digestive tract. The fiber bind water making the feces softer. Dietary Fiber , therefore, prevents constipation. It allows for humans to live a more regular life. For those with difficulties in their digestive tract, it allows for the easier excrement of feces. The only way to gain dietary fiber is by eating foods with high fiber content. Dietary fibers can be found in everyday foods all around us.
Dietary fibers are seen only in plant foods. They are in fruits vegetables, nuts and things of that nature. The form of the food that contains the fiber may also affect the amount of fiber it has. For example, dried and crushed fruits have less dietary fiber than raw vegetables or even canned ones. The water binding abilities are lost as the fruit is dried or crushed. Yet the canned or frozen fruit contain the same amount of dietary fiber as the raw food.
As you can see Dietary Fiber are a very beneficial to our bodies even though they
