Compare And Contrast Judaism And Christianity
Christianity v. Judaism
There are hundreds of different religions practiced all over the world. Christianity and Judaism are two religions with similar origins, but varying beliefs, practices and teachings. With many comparable components, I will decipher the difference between the two goals of religion, life after death, and the direction of prayer.
Firstly, every religion has its own objective, something that it lives and works towards. The goal of Christianity is to love God, to obey his commandments, to build a relationship with Jesus Christ, and to spread the word of the gospel so that others can be saved eternally. On the other hand, the goal of Judaism is to celebrate life, fulfill the Covenant with God, do good deeds, repair the world, and love God with all of your heart. Nowhere in the Judaic religion do you see anything about believing in Jesus. Christians differ from Jews in their belief of the Messiah. Jews do not consider Jesus to be their Messiah; Jesus did not meet their expectations of being the Messiah, so they are continuing to wait for their Messiah, or the …show more content…
Christians believe that every man has inherited “original sin” from Adam and is inherently evil and in need of forgiveness of sin. Christians choose their actions and how they live their lives. They believe that the human race is broken and in need of salvation from God. Jews know that you must choose good over bad and you must decide. According to the Jewish religion, You are not born with sin, you choose to sin and you have to repent your sins as you live. They also believe that you are responsible for your actions, not your thoughts, so that you have the option to act on what you are thinking, whether it be good or bad.     Christianity and Buddhism have similar beliefs in that all people are created equal, and that each religion teaches people how to make good decisions that honor their God or Gods.
