How will community college change your life?

I often ask myself why. Why did I decide to go to college? Well first off I want to have a better future. So therefore, I am going to need to get my future set straight in order to support this goal. What better way than to enroll in college? I strive for the best, and while in college I plan to make the best out of it.
While in college I would love to gain the most out of it there will be certain obstacles I will have to overcome in order to be successful in receiving my degree.
Why did I enroll in college? My reasons for enrolling in college are pretty simple. First things first, I really want to work towards getting my degree and become a Police officer.

I have wanted to be a Police Officer all my life all my life. Honestly I have the up-most respect for police men, due to the fact that they put up with so much from people on a daily basis. So I believe I need to put the effort and take over for myself to learn new things and become a better person. Another reason I decided to enroll in college is that I really want to experience new things. This is a never ending issue; I am the type of person who constantly wants to experience something new and to explore the world as much as I possibly can. I have considered joining the Military if school didn’t work out and to experience new things, and better my future what better way than to enroll in college.

Both of these experiences will do nothing but brighten up my future. Lastly, I enrolled in college to meet new people as well as to better my education. I personally have never been a people person, so I am trying to overcome it by trying to meet new people every day and become more sociable and friendly at my classes and communicating with different people. Also, in order for me to become a successful at my job I will need to become a better person at communicating with others. This would be a great time to start practicing and getting better at it.

Next, everyone has certain types of qualities they use to become successful. My biggest quality that I have with everything I do, I have a “never quit attitude.” I say this because regardless what I have to do, I will achieve my objective. I will do whatever it takes to succeed in college and I enrolled to do my best. I have a saying I always tell myself when I want to give up “never give up” I have followed that saying ever since I had my first day, and it has brought me a long ways in a short amount of time. Another good quality that I can use to become successful would be that I am pretty good with computers. My job in the community would probably deal with computers. So I feel I can get the job done with a computer. As of right now I have a fairly large amount of free time in order to complete everything needed. So I feel the quality of free time works well for me at the moment. With free time I can achieve anything.
Also, there are a few things I would like to gain out of my experience in college. First of all, I would like to achieve my goal and receive my degree. That is definitely the biggest and by far most important goal I have set for myself. Receiving my degree will set me up for success, and open up so many doors for my life.

Another thing I would like to gain out of going to college, I would really like to become more proficient in all academic areas. While I was in school I liked to goof around too much, and never really paid attention in class. That really messed me up on everything I wanted to do; by the time I realized that, it was too late for me to change then. I missed a lot of valuable information, so hopefully I can pick all that information up throughout my college years.

Lastly, I would like to become a better all-around person. The different clubs and jobs I’ve done inside school as well as outside school have helped me with my discipline; I feel that in the short time I’ve been at college I have grown up a whole lot. In my opinion, college will only help me grow ever more as a person. Becoming a better person will help me in the field of my research.

Finally, with everything you want to achieve in life, there will always be some type of obstacles that a person will have to overcome. The biggest obstacle I feel I will overcome in school is that I am not a very good writer. While in college I am pretty sure that will change, especially in the classes in taking. When I was in 7th grade we took the writing test, it took me till I think I was in the 9th grade to pass it. Another big obstacle, is that I am a slacker at times. If I know something is not to for a few days, I tend to put it off until the last minute.

It is impossible to give your best effort if you wait until the last minute to start an assignment. Hopefully I can fix this obstacle while in college; life would be so much easier for me. The last thing I am going to talk about here is that I get side-tracked really easy on certain things. Some people think I have some type of an Attention Disorder. Although I have been through testing to prove I have outgrown it. But I get bored really easy. For instance if the work is really easy I get tired of doing it, so therefore I just walk away from it. This also caused me plenty of problems throughout my years in school.

I received plenty of bad grades for incomplete assignments, which were really easy.
In conclusion, listed in my writing are only a few reasons I chose to enroll in college. My main reason for enrolling in college is definitely to make a better future for myself. With my degree I feel that I can be a real person of the world rather than just a student and make something of my life. .

Why go to college? Why would someone spend thousands of dollars to sit in yet another classroom? My uncle says “people that get a degree make over a million dollars more in a lifetime.” My dad counters that with “the world needs ditch diggers too.” I came to college to start my life, to become an independent man who finds his niche among society. I suppose some people can do that outside of school but I find college to be an optimum transition to the adult life as it teaches practical skills, instills a greater appreciation of the world, and makes one discontent with inequities in the community.…

The main reason why people go to college is not because they want to but because they have to. Most high school seniors are pressured by their guidance counselors and parents to go to college because it is “the right thing to do.” In the essay that Caroline Bird wrote “College is a Waste of Time and Money”, she states that students go to college because.” Mother wanted them to go, or some other reason entirely irrelevant to the course of studies for which college is supposedly organized." The student may have different ideas about what he or she wants to do in life, but because they think that these “mentors” know what is best for them, they probably end up doing something they do not want to do, resulting in being miserable and resentful.…

Since some people do not take the time to look at the facts, it is my turn to tell the truth about community colleges. Keep in mind that each advantages and disadvantage that I mention can be different from anyone’s point of view. Some main advantages: Community colleges are cheap, therefore a great way to try and save some money. Each class has no more than thirty students in it. Most professors also teach at great universities. There are many different clubs and programs to get involved in, if you would like. It is a great way to bring up a bad grade point average. Some four-year institutes have transfer agreements with community colleges. Going to a community college for two years doesn’t set you back at all or have any kind of penalties. Some main disadvantages: Students have to commute because there are no dorms on campus.…
