There will be a one-day training seminar for the IT Department on October 2, 2010. It will be held in the dual conference room at the Gaylord Convention Center in Maryland. The address is 123 Harbor Blvd. National Harbor, MD 12345 if you need to get directions. Dr. Melanie Dobler will be the guest speaker. The seminar will be held in the Deluxe Convention Room on the first floor. We expect around 150 to 160 people so that room is definitely big enough. Christina Smith said that she can loan us a computer and screen for a PowerPoint presentation. PartyCity Inc. has also loaned tables and chairs for the seminar. We are in need for someone to make photocopies of materials before the seminar so we can send them out so everyone is prepared for the seminar. We also need someone to help with snacks for the two breaks between the two major parts of the seminar. The schedule looks like this so far:…

y presence on the Hillsdale campus would be both unique, and mutually beneficial. The former, embedded in my very being, would, surely, draw attention to my individual character but, would also place me within a community that, is accepting, and full of like minded, individualized students. Therefore, since I feel, socially, I will fit in nicely at Hillsdale, I plan on pursuing many student run organizations and clubs, to become a part of vibrant Hillsdale culture. In particular, there are a few clubs I have already developed an interest for. Namely, The Creative Writhing Lab, The International Club, The Lyceum, and, perhaps, even The Chess Club- although my skills would certainly need improvement to serve as a competitive opponent.…

Hello, Dr. Grubaugh. You are an amazing professor and really funny at times. College has been really different from what I have always thought it will be. I thought of college being the most fun time of my life, but it has been stressful. I do enjoy working on myself and improving on my work. Every time I score poor, I study harder for next time. I have not participated in any of the event yet. I always think of being more active on campus events but I guess I am not out going enough for that. However, I have made some friends and for new years night, I and one of my friend have planed visit New York City.…

Hello, I hope you've been enjoying your semester. I sure do miss senior block and seeing you around Skyline!! I've been researching and applying for jobs all over (super nerve racking). I've been looking into the Raymore-Peculiar School District a lot since I've interviewed with them. After countless hours looking on their district page and checking out the elementary schools' websites, I have grown to really like the district-- almost as much as Sedalia. I was wondering if you knew anyone within the district? If so, would it be too much trouble to put in a good word for me? I know you are super busy, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to…

    Key Club Narrative

When you enter a new environment where you barely knew anyone, trying new things can be intimidating – especially when you’re a new freshman student. One particular day, there were various booths scattered outside the cafeteria as students were eating lunch. Our school offers a great variety of clubs and were showcasing them that day, so that students may sign up for them. One booth that particularly stood out was the booth for Key Club, which was operated by some members rocking some orange gear. As I read more about the club, I saw this as a perfect opportunity to meet people as well as contributing to my community. I immediately picked up the pen and signed my name on the sign-up sheet. This marked the start of a great year.…

I’ve only just recently began a new college experience after being out of school for many years. I am in the early formation of meeting new people and establishing relationships with teachers and advisors. I have found it very helpful to become involved in group and individual student discussions and looking into joining college social clubs with mutual interests. My professors and advisors are very helpful and will remain that way as long as I take it upon myself to establish and to maintain ongoing communication with them. Things such as visiting…

My name is Vincent Lowe and I’m a freshman here at Delaware. I’m originally from New Jersey born and raised and Delaware was my first choice for college. I have an older sister and I’m really into sports. My favorite teams consist of the Eagles, Pirates, 76ers, and Flyers; I have season tickets to the Eagles and I go to every game with my dad. I follow sports pretty much everyday and I love playing sports with my friends. I’m a big fantasy football guy and I’ve been running my own league for a while now. Fantasy football makes the NFL season that much more interesting as your interested in every game and not just your favorite teams game. My sister also went to Delaware and she graduated last year. She is going for her CPA and she already has a job. She majored in Accounting and Finance as what I’m going to major in as well. I’m looking forward to rushing this semester, as I want to be a part of a fraternity here at Delaware, as I believe it will make me time here a lot more enjoyable. Next year I’m living in a townhouse with some of my friends as I’m pretty excited for that having my own place for the first time and living on my own means. It will be an adjustment but I’m looking forward to it. My family is really important to me and they always come first, I would do anything for them and I love spending time with them. My grades are really important to me as I try hard in school to get the best possible grades and become a successful student. Being a successful student will enable me to achieve a good job in the future and hopefully lead a successful life. I’m looking forward to this English class because my least favorite subject is English and I want to learn to become a better writer and enjoy the subject of English.…
