Sometimes it’s impossible to believe that there was a time when cell phones weren’t around. The only communicating means were letters or direct conversation.

The beginning of the phone era saw only communication facilities, where people used them just to communicate with each other but then came the cell phone era which added the facilities to be able to use it as a portable device and now you can just do anything and everything on a cell phone.
From Calling to Texting , Navigations system , Voice recording , Camera , Video recording , What’s app , Facebook , Blogs , Twitter , Instagram , over a million types of games and what not!

New spellings were developed in order to shorten the messages. Texting has been blamed for damaging the English language and even for affecting literacy levels. People don’t even type the spelling properly while searching for a topic as they know that the site will autocorrect it for them.

Positive Changes on the Society

It cannot be said that cell phones just have had negative impacts on the society or human well-being.
The cell phone is one of the defining technologies of the early 21st century, it was studied that 6 out of 7 billion people on earth have already used a cell phone once in their life. The use of mobile phones have changed our social behaviours positively by the below mentioned Facilities:-
MOBILE COMMERCE
Cell phones have acquired a huge stake in our M-shopping lives, allowing us to obtain information, search for discounts and purchase products directly from our devices. M-commerce is growing rapidly, with an e-Marketer study putting U.S. e-commerce sales through mobile devices at $24.66 billion in 2012. Also People can order products from anywhere at any time using their cell phone. It can also be argues that this can also happen through a laptop but that is only when portable internet facility is available. Also we are able to update ourselves on where our friends and families are. Making us aware of the events around us. We can so easily get in touch with our relatives or friends thousands of miles away. It has connected a lot of people. Grandparents have started live chats in order to get to see their grandchildren who are far away from them. Cell phones have brought people closer than they could possible imagine!
EMERGENCY USE
People can easily call 108 or 100 during emergency situations. 85% of calls made to 108 are from cell phones, thus saving a lot of lives in the process. Concentrating on the amount of rapes that occur in India, even apps have been developed to provide safety to women. Cell Phones always help us during emergency situations, imagine yourself in a situation and then you would realize that what you wouldn’t give to have a cell phone during that situation.
