1.1Background of the Study
Nana Nelia’s Catering Services is a small business of Nelia Dalmacio. She started with a carenderia in front of her house, since she likes cooking for her family. From the small business grew the idea of starting up a catering service, now Nana Nelia’s had already work for many clients for almost a decade (since March 2001). The catering business serves food in events, such as, birthday parties, wedding, and other event functions such as, baptismal and seminars. As their business grows they add extra services, like flower arrangements, table settings and free venues. The business is still needs improvement, enough to compete with other bigger catering services that are already gaining popularity in the business world. Nana Nelia’s accommodates customers for reservations and other inquiries and about catering services. The business is located at 320 De Ocampo Street, Pulong Buhangin, Sta. Maria, Bulacan. For reservation of an event, a customer will choose their desired date of the celebration and the owner will check if still available; if yes, they will be given a brochure where the packages and other amenities are listed. The customer needs to pay 40% of the package price for reservation fee which is deductable to the total payment. The reservation is valid for 3 days and shall be forfeited thus not confirm within the period of time. This is base on the terms and condition of the catering service that will be sign by agreement of the customer and the owner. If the customer wishes to cancel the event the payment is not refundable, non consumable and no transferable. As part of the promotion, Nana Nelia’s also offers free venue of the event such as in a small pavilion owned by the catering service. The customer has the choice if they want to obey the free venue or not. Functions outside Metro Manila will be charge 10% additional payment from the total price of the catering service.
Statement of the Problem
Payment process is done only through walk-in process. All the records are filed in a log book for the future business reference. They only accommodate customers through meeting a person and process reservation manually. The business lack marketing strategies using computerized reservation system. Such as: Customers schedule conflict in terms of personal meeting with the caterer, availability of the office in accommodating reservation, the business does not have enough advertisement and inquiries of the menu list of the packages offered by catering services. 1.2Objectives of the study

The main objective of the study is to develop a computerized reservation system that will advertise the business of Nana Nelia’s catering service and to computerize its existing reservation process. 1.2.2. Specific objectives
The objectives of the study are:
•To develop a computerized reservation system of Nana Nelia’s catering services •To give information about the food and services provided by Nana Nelia’s catering services •To provide convenience in managing a reservation for the admin and ease of access for reserving an event for the customer •To develop modules that will track, change and organize reservation data for Nana Nelia’s Catering Services. This study will make catering reservation faster and easier. By this, Nana Nelia’s will have the chance to gain more customers. 1.3Significance of the study
