 ingested large amounts of food are followed by self-induced vomiting, laxative or consumption in order to maintain perfect figure we cited above, the same applies to other disorders like anorexia differing from the previous one in that the teen does not eat more than minimal amounts of food so that your body weight is reduced most times in a very dangerous way. There are also more and more studies in different countries that these disorders have increased. The Norwegian University of Science and Technology shows some statistics of a study made about the eating disorders that affects teens. The main aim of the study was to establish the prevalence of (ED) in adolescents of both genders. The study sample consisted of 1960 adolescents (1026 girls and 934 boys), 14–15 years of age. The participants completed the (SEDs), including DSM-III-R and DSM-IV diagnoses for all subcategories of (ED). As a result of this studied the rates of ED showed that the prevalence of any (ED) among girls was 17.9% that consisted in: (AN), 0.7%, (BN) 1.2%, (BED) 1.5%, and EDs (EDNOS) 14.6%. Corresponding numbers for boys for any ED is 6.5% consisted in: (AN) 0.2%, BN 0.4%, (BED) 0.9%, and (EDNOS) 5.0%. (Bjornstrom). Among adolescents from middle social class, upper middle self-esteem, success, and even happiness are valued according to the measures and the percentage of body fat even though these findings do not have any logical reasoning. Despite this, the cultural imposition of maintaining a slim figure is reflected directly to excessive diets that can actually damage your health. The truth hidden in this type of behavior has much to do with the way in which the teenager sees itself and its need for acceptance.
