I’ve been trying to decide between clinical child psychology and forensic anthropology for a few years now. The annual salary for a clinical child psychologist is around $88,430, though it depends on where they live and how qualified they are for the job (“Salary.com”). This job makes more than enough to survive on. To become a child psychologist, a person should have a PhD. A PhD isn’t necessarily required, but the higher of a degree that a person has, the more qualified they are for the job and the more they’ll be paid. To be a psychologist, a person need to know how the human mind works and why it works. It makes more than twice of the salary of a factory, so the ten years it takes to get the degree is worth it. To become a forensic anthropologist, a person needs to have a PhD. To be a forensic anthropologist, a person needs thorough education about human anatomy, archeology, decomposition of human tissue, and many other scientific processes. A person also must have an extremely strong stomach because they have to see dead and decomposing bodies in person or in photographs everyday. If a person does get employed by the FBI, they will be considered part of the FBI staff and they will use extremely advanced technology. They could also be hired by a museum to catalogue different bones or fossils that they have found. To be a forensic anthropologist, they must be proper and polite with their work, because they are working for powerful or important people (“How to”). If a person wants to be a forensic anthropologist, they might need to move to a bigger city. Forensic anthropologists are called in for crimes where foul play was involved. Violent deaths are on the rise in many cities in this country, and most times they leave behind a mutilated and unrecognizable body (“Forensic Anthropologist”).
