Bill Davenhall spoke on the formula for life and good health. This formula consists of genetics, lifestyle, and environment. If we managed these risks, we could live a good life and healthy one as well. Exposing ourselves to risks not seen are the leading causes to diseases. Our place history is an important factor. We must educate the physicians about geomedicine. I believe adding place history in the medical record would be a major discovery of the cause of an illness or disease.     The first report I found from http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-20084254 was for Winterbourne View care home for people with disabilities the report says eleven care workers male and female were involved. One victim was showered fully clothed and had mouth wash poured into her eyes , while another was asked if they wanted their face grated with a cheese grater , the abuse got so much for one patient that he tried jumping out of his window from the second floor to then be mocked by the care workers, this all came to light by BBC One Panorama doing undercover recordings it was told to CQC that ignored the complaint. After the recordings were shown on BBC one the eleven care workers admitted to 38 different charges of abuse and neglect, six were jailed between six months to two years while the other five were on suspended sentences, the CQC said it was misjudgement that the concerns had not been investigated.…

    Epidemiology is different from medical fields because it does not focus on one individual it focuses on a group. Epidemiology directly impacts public health. Epidemiology is centered on three factors in a population setting, the Host, the Agent, and the Environment. These three factors are part of the Epidemiology Triangle. The Host is the population the disease or health problem concern. The host is the Human who can come in contact with the disease. There are a lot of things that intrinsic the host and are often called risk factors. Opportunities for exposure often are influenced by the person’s behaviors for example Sexual practices, hygiene, a person’s choices and age and sex. Sometimes people are more susceptible due to genetic composition, nutrition, immune system, anatomic structure, present illness, medications and psychological makeup. The Agent is the health concern or the health problem. An Agent must be present for a disease to occur, but presence of an agent is not always sufficient to cause a disease. There are many factors that influnance weather an exposure will to an organism will result in disease, including pathogenicity and dose. The environment is the geographical area where the disease takes place and refers to the extrinsic factors that affect the agent and opportunity for exposure. The factors that are environmentally include social economic factors such as overcrowding populations, sanitation issues and availability of health care.
