In order to learn and improve my English my parents signed me up for a program where they would teach English to adolescence. The program took place after school, twice a week; I found the program extremely helpful.

I chose to double-major to incorporate multiple aspects of my career goals. As a political science major, I will continue to learn about the United States and local governments which will follow me forward as I attend law school. Majoring in business allows me to be a versatile lawyer. I will have knowledge about finances and business operations which will aid me if I chose to become a criminal defense attorney. However, I am a slow reader, so I believe that has some influence, as well. My current major, Business, was not what I would have expected to pursue if someone had said so, then. All my life I have known I would attend to college, but never knew what to pursue. My interests are so varied; what I enjoy versus what I am willing and able to achieve 40 hours out of the week are two very different things. I had always thought of being a Veterinarian, but can’t stand to see animals suffering. I had also considered something in animal behavior, but had no idea on how to pursue that direction. So, I choose a Business major, not only because it compliments my current career path, but it is also a universal major that would be beneficial in multiple areas, regardless of which path I choose. I have considered a graduate program in Business, as well, hoping that there is one gravitating towards Logistics and Supply Chain Management.…

As a young child, I was always aware of books and the difference between books for children and books for adults. I would not say that I grew up in a family of devout readers, but I did grow up in a family of individuals who appreciated the value of books. Although my parents never seemed to have time to simply sit and read frequently, my mother had engaged with college-level texts in her adulthood, and both of my parents saw the benefit of exposing my sister and me to books at an early age. There was always a bookshelf in my house packed full of textbooks and enormous tomes with dusty, creased spines. We also had a full set of the Encyclopedia Britannica (which I recently found out is going out of print). It would be an exaggeration to say that these books intrigued me because they represented knowledge. However, they intrigued me because although they sat there and collected dust for years, my mother refused to throw them away. It was impressed upon me very early on that books were important, and that throwing them away was wrong. I did not get it completely at that point, especially because those books were incomprehensible to a four or five year old, but I understood that it was something that would be important when I was older.…

And it was prairie to coming to America. When I and my family came to United State I was at the age of 17, and I started going to school in 10th grade in the cities. Where I learned most of my English skills, I was so nervous at the first time that I started the school in America but at the same time I was happy to start new school. Even though, it was the very hardest part of coming to a new country, I did not give up. I had lack of understanding with the students and teachers, because mostly was my language pairs. The accent was kind of British and my English language was not that good I was now too. I struggled for two consecutive years and I was tried to improve the way I used to spoke. I finally graduated from high school in June of 2013,…

The end of 8th grade, the end of middle school, was a scary time for some, myself included. After the summer, I would be in a new building, with new people, teachers, and subjects. It wasn’t going to be a smooth transition for me, being an introvert for the most of my school career. My grades we in a great position, that wasn't an issue. I had always been able to maintain my grades. A large part of that was that I hadn't had internet for the past several years. The issue, however, was that high school was a place where it was pretty much required to be social and to go out of your comfort zone. This is also why I was hesitant to take up an offer that would eventually benefit me throughout my years in high school.…

Everyone has their own unique identity that does not connect with someone else’s, whether it be culturally, religiously, ethnically, sexually, or any type of background. My parents’ identities are incomprehensible to me, because I do not experience life the same way they did, and I did not grow up in the same situations in which they did. My cultural identity is inherited from my parents in a way that does not particularly connect with them--that is, it is inherited from their sense of self identity and capability to recognize who they are as people. While my my mom may associate herself as one way, my dad may associate himself as another, and I may see myself as nothing comparable to their identities. However, despite the vagueness of the inheritance of cultural identities, I am aware that I grew up and am growing up in a…
