Assignment 3: Leadership of Richard Branson

Richard Branson’s leadership style
In the given paper, we have analyzed the dynamics of the leadership styles which can be applied to the organizations in order to get the maximum output from its employees. The organizational structuring and the leadership style that have been applied by Sir Richard Branson in the Virgin Group sets an example of developing a global conglomerate by using few tools and techniques. How does the hierarchical form of the Virgin Group and the unique approach adopted by its higher management helps in motivating the employees, etc. have been analyzed on our paper.
The aim of our study is to look for the leadership practices by Sir Richard Branson, CEO of the Virgin’s Group, which he has applied in the organization and have made it a great success through his efforts. (Buchanan & Huczynski, 2007). There are two kinds of leadership styles which can be used to lead the employees of the company. As per the transactional form of the leadership styles, the employees work within the organization as it already exists and they are very well aware about the effort and reward. (Bass, 2009). Goals have been set for the employees and they are being motivated to achieve these goals within a given timeframe.
In case of transformational leaders, they make changes in the working style of the employees, the culture of the organization and arousing the emotions within the employees. Hence, leaders have two options to have an impact on his employees. Self-interest of employees plays a central role in the actions of the employees. (Michael, 2010)
Another point which we have discussed in the paper is the key elements of the leadership style which have been used by Branson and the impact those have on the success of the organization. What is the
