Ashleigh steals money from her mom, to give to her dad. She cares about her dad. Ashleigh really believes that her father could have a chance for something big.Ashleigh steals the money, trusting her dad will pay her back.

Ashleigh stole the money because she loves her dad and trusts he will pay her back. The quote, “You're the one-in-a-million girl… I still loved hearing him say that” suggests she loves him. Her father says he will pay her back.
