Advantages Disadvantages Of Cloud Com
ADVANTAGES AND BENEFITS OF CLOUD COMPUTING
1. Decrease In Cost: The biggest advantage of cloud computing is the elimination of the investment in stand-alone software or servers by the user. By cloud computing, one can easily save the overhead charges such as cost of data storage, software updates, management, and most importantly cost of quality control. Now anyone can use the services of cloud computing at affordable rates.
Cloud computing is probably the most cost efficient method to use, maintain and upgrade. Traditional desktop software costs companies a lot in terms of finance. Adding up the licensing fees for multiple users can prove to be very expensive for the establishment concerned. The cloud, on the other hand, is available at much cheaper rates and hence, can significantly lower the company’s IT expenses. Besides, there are many one-time-payments, pay-as-you-go and other scalable options available, which makes it very reasonable for the company in question.
2. Speed and Scalability of Cloud Services: With cloud computing, the user has no need to install the hardware or software for a new application; he or she can easily scale up or down the services, limiting them according to their requirements. There are many data centres that are located at multiple locations for the storage of data from near locations.

3. Almost Unlimited Storage: Storing information in the cloud gives you almost unlimited storage capacity. Hence, you no more need to worry about running out of storage space or increasing your current storage space availability.

4. Backup and Recovery: Since all your data is stored in the cloud, backing it up and restoring the same is relatively much easier than storing the same on a physical device. Furthermore, most cloud service providers are usually competent enough to handle recovery of information. Hence, this makes the entire process of backup and recovery much simpler than other traditional methods of data storage.

To expand, when referring to Cloud Computing, this means to access and store information not stored with in your computer whether it be public, private, or hybrid cloud computing. In technological terms, the server you are accessing is somewhere else and therefore, the information and tools you are using are “up in the clouds” but more so stored in another server space. However, whether you are paying for services through software, total usage, or free usage (hence the types of cloud services) Cloud Computing seems to be everywhere. Yet, it is important to recognize what is to gain by using cloud computing from big businesses to individual users and what are some risky moves when utilizing cloud storage over the Internet. Hence, the content of this paper will discuss the pros and cons of cloud computing and where cloud computing is headed in todays online society.…

Technology has taken great leaps of advancement. Some of the new technology that companies and consumers are taking advantage of to store and process data is cloud computing. Cloud computing was derived from virtualization. Virtualization allows companies to separate business applications from hardware. Doing this gives the company the capability of assigning applications as needed. The option to manage applications is a great benefit to companies. Resulting from the virtualization error, cloud computing has emerged to provide flexible IT infrastructures. This has not only enhanced the options companies now have, but it is also proven to be more cost efficient. This has increasingly become a preferred method of companies and consumers alike. In other words, cloud computing allows to store all personal and business applications without the data centre. This means that with cloud computing no sophisticated hardware is needed, which leads to great benefits for businesses. Cloud computing provides several hosted services on the Internet. These provided services are divided into three major categories: Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) (Barnatt, 2013). Cloud computing offers software and hardware resources and in some cases human services over a distributed environment that can be shared and utilized on demand through internet. Business owners can use these resources as per their requirement even if that is for few hours a day or few days a month and have to pay only for that actual use. Thus this relatively new concept is becoming highly popular among IT organizations because of its flexibility and cost effectiveness. It is highly scalable and also can span quickly according to the requirements of individual organization yet still sharing the same resources.…

This research paper tackles the issues that faces Cloud Computing today and gives the experts and industry’s point of view on the matter. The aspects explored are the significant industry questions that have risen about the use of Cloud Computing, business value, organization impact, adaptability, limitations, initial cost of implementation, and the severe business security risks due to centralization of resources. Brian Proffitt will argue in is IT World article [24], there are some serious limitations with cloud computing that is being blithely ignored such as bandwidth limitation, storage, and availability. Interviews conducted with colleagues that are experts in the Enterprise Systems network arena reveals that, the impact is all in planning before implementation, the selected architecture and the security policy. Findings in manuscripts and online libraries reflect that Cloud Computing is a technological revolution that provides computer resources as a service; offering flexible IT usage, computing efficiency through improved utilization and reduced administration and infrastructure costs. Users are not limited to applications confined to a computer, data stored to a hard drive, or bounded by the organization’s network. Also known as the sum of Software as a Service (SaaS) and Utility Computing, Cloud Computing is argued to be more efficient and scalable. My hope is to identify the common issues that face Cloud Computing in organizations that have implemented it, and find the answer or probable solutions.…

“Cloud” computing is the fanciest buzzword in the computer industry, currently surpassing the last big term “web 2.0”. Every big player in the computer industry launched a cloud service last year. Notable examples are iCloud by Apple, (Apple 2012) or Microsoft Cloud Services (Microsoft 2011), copying various innovators like Google or Dropbox, who offer similar services since much longer. The latter is the most successful company in the private usage of a file-cloud, since 2007 it has acquired over 50 million users (Dropbox 2012). The success of Dropbox lies more in its simplicity rather than its functionality, the company never uses words like sync or cloud, it simply works for the user (Carr 2011).…

Usually if you use a standard web browser, more than likely you will be able to use the service. Low Cost- The upfront cost of cloud computing is small. The user can space the payments out over a period of time, paying monthly payments. Doing this avoids any large upfront costs. There are also disadvantages of using this model. These include:…
