8th School Year Research Paper
Now that i have finished the 1st quarter of my 8th grade year, I can say i really enjoy it. It may be different but it’s really enjoyable. Classes, life, lunch, grades all differ from my past middle school years, Some good, Some bad. One big difference I have noticed is my classes. I have 2 new teachers since last year. And so far i like them. In math, I am now in advanced math. Although we're still learning about equations, expressions, etc. Advanced math is way harder and faster. But i think it will be a good impact on my future. Social studies is still the same. Just more advanced because it's 8th grade. Science is still really hard for me. Science has always been my least favorite subject because i can't comprehend much. And the class …show more content…
At the beginning of the year when we talked about how important 8th grade is, it really got to me. My past years in middle school, I just blew everything off because i didn't really care. Like if we had a test, i wouldn't study, if we had a big homework assignment, i wouldn't do it. I did this because i would think to myself and say “Oh well, it doesn't matter anyways”. But this year i realized that it actually does. Im almost in high school. 8th grade is preparation of high school. So everything i do in 8th grade, will affect my life and education. So i set myself some goals this year. To be successful this year, i decided i needed some goals for school. I decided that even if the homework is long and is gonna take time, i still need to do it because it does matter. Even if i know what's on the test, i still need to study because it does matter. Even if my friends make bad decisions, i don't need to follow them, because it will matter if i get in trouble. Almost everything i do this year, WILL matter. So this year i plan to achieve these goals no matter …show more content…
I'm really enjoying my 8th grade year. A Lot of things are really different, but life is full with changes and this is just the beginning. If i would have to choose, i would say this is my best year so far. Not just at the middle school, but the best overall. At the beginning of the year, i set goals, as stated before, but i've not been focusing on them. Towards the end of the quarter i started slipping. Nt during my homework, not studying, just like last year. But i'm determined to not do that in Quarter 2. I'm not the same as i was in 7th grade and i'm gonna go back to that. Last year i didn't want to do anything. I didn't feel like my homework was important or studying was going to help. But this year i'm gonna do my best and do whatever i have to do to get the best grade i can!
In Language Arts class, there is a big difference from this year and last year. I feel that i'm doing a lot better this year. Last year i felt was very hard. We always did the same things over and over again. I can better understand the materials this year with all of the videos, and activities we do. Last year, we just read a paper and answered questions about it, and i wasn't understanding it. I think this year will be a big change and it will be good. It will reflect on my experience in highschool, and my future

Lastly i'm going to have a positive attitude in everything I do and try things that seem impossible. For example, when I first learned how to ride a bike it seemed impossible at first and if I gave up at the first try, it would be, but by having persistent and keep trying I started to get the hang of it. I practiced and worked on it a bit at a time and eventually it started to get easier for me. I learn from your mistakes and the more I worked the easier it got. I'm going to apply this to this year's English class because by having a positive attitude and keep on trying, I can receive the goal I want.…

My experience is about when I first started going to Plum Grove in seventh grade and continued on to eighth grade. Before this experience, I thought that seventh and eighth grade were going to be very hard for me because I believed that it would be a lot more complicated than past school years. I never really liked school before I came to Jr. High. So I felt like Jr. High was going to be dreadful for me. Turns out that it wasn't bad at all.…

Being at ECHS has been a roller coaster. Especially, in my English II class with my teacher Mrs. Cranford. I have really enjoyed learning new things this year such as, how to properly write in MLA format, read and analyze articles, and just learning new life lessons with our occasional personal talk. I loved some parts and certain times of my English class period while others I don’t like. However, as a look back into the year, I have spent I loved all of it.…

When the seventh grade year started, I was very worried ,but now that I have been here awhile the worries have faded away. I had many worries about seventh grade like getting lost or getting overwhelmed by stacks of homework. Over the summer I didn’t worry too much about the new school year. I had sports to take my mind off of what school was going to be like. Luckily I got into classes with all of my friends and my teachers are great. I thought that making friends was going to be hard but I play sports so people already knew me. I was also worried about being at a new school, but even though the school looks huge it’s pretty easy to get around. Even though I had many worries about the new school they have all gone away.…

Elementary was a great experience for me. Thats how it all begun with me learning how to speak bad write English was a great experience. It was hard but I was able to do it thanks to my parents and my cousin who is more like a sister to me. Junior high came and then it was time to skip to a step further and go to high school. I was focused on trying to get A’s and B’s only, but all the essays and test got harder and harder each year. Junior year had to be one of the most difficult year that I had gone through. Not only was I playing volleyball but I was also concentrating more on the sport than on my studies that caused me to fail physics second semester. Getting closer to senior year I started looking into the career I wanted ti focus on and what I wanted to major in.Senior year got is here and I had chosen to get into the medical field. The medical field interested me very much because we get to help people and even save their lives. Its not only those things that mattered to me but also I want to make my parents proud and show them that no matter how hard it can get I can get it done. For me to take that big step to become the person I want to be I have take many classes that don’t focus specifically on the medical field. As a senior I am trying to get ready for college and I am seeing what classes I need to take before I start focusing on the career that I want to dedicate my life too. Im taking a step forward and already am taking college…
