watching Apocalypse Now the viewer is able to observe many scenes that are similar with the novel Heart of Darkness. One of the most apparent of these scenes is when the natives attack the men on the boats. After the attack Coppola and Conrad both use fog to show the uncertainty the characters have in regards to completing their tasks. The men in the novel begin to randomly shoot into the jungle once the attack begins. They are unable to see their attackers so they are shooting completely blind.

Documentary films and their representations of the Holocaust have served not only to speak their ‘truth’ of the atrocities but also to document changing paradigms of social thought concerning Holocaust ‘truth’. Holocaust History and its documentation: Theodor Adorno’s famous 1949 injunction that ‘to write poetry after Auschwitz is barbaric’ is indicative of the initial approaches of documentary to the subject matter. for the oppression which Kessey observes in the modern society. I will agree that matriarchy is associated with castration. Kessey describes the fog machine as the powerless of the patient forced by the staff to stay hidden in their own individual fog. This is the same way the society has castrated the men (mostly black men) by making them remain in their fog. Castration to me is when men are deprived of their manly rights; when a man’s masculinity is threatened. Role of men in the society has gradually

Belonging is a sense of connection or attachment to people‚ religion‚ culture or places. I think throughout the texts ’10 Mart St’‚ and ‘Migrant Hostel’ and the related texts ‘The arrival’ and ‘house of sand and fog’ the concept of belonging to place and culture is expressed strongly. In Migrant Hotel Skrzynecki talks about ‘sudden departures’‚ people always coming and going and not knowing who will be next. This creates a lack of belonging and place.
