I Wish I Had a Lot of Money
We must have heard the clichés that money is not everything and money cannot buy everything. Imagine yourself to live without money, how are you going to be happy when you cannot even make a life? Perhaps, money is not everything and we cannot buy everything with money, but money increases our life chances. I wish I had a lot of money so that I have the chance to help my family, build an orphanage and help in saving the mother earth.
My family especially my parents, had been my backbone. They worked so hard to give me good education, comfortable life, and to cater all my needs leaving them with tonnes of debt. If only I have much money, the first thing I would like to do is to pay all my parents debt off. I want them to lead a loose-fitting life without any worries about the debt. I also could use the money to spend on my father’s transportation company so that the company will thrive in the country. To simply put it, I want to ease the burden that my parents had been carrying on their shoulder all this while.
Next, I want to use the money to build an international orphanage. I want to have all the unfortunate children from all over the world especially to the victims of human trafficking living there. I want to give them a chance to have a dream and work hard to pursue it. I believe that every child was born with a bright future. Nestled in the orphanage, I would make sure they get everything that would support their development and take into account that they came from a different background and they need to be treated differently. Briefly, I want to reach the hand of the ill-fated children to give them a hope to live.
Last but not least, I want to save the mother earth. Impressed by an ancient Indian proverb saying, we do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it form our children, I was called to do something to help our mother earth, and to prepare a better future for my children. Imagine how much I can contribute in conserving the earth

First, I would donate to charities, there are too many to possibly mention but I would start and really focus on the homeless and the Vets. The homeless and the Vets, I think could really benefit from any amount i could give. I may also think about focusing on a few people that I may know that need a fresh start at life. This fresh start may only happen if someone is willing to give them money to actually get the ball rolling. I do feel there are many more charities but I would have to spread out my wealth first and come back to more depending. I know many friends of my mom's that…

I disagree with Aristotle and this form of logic; therefore, money is vital for survival at the present time. Money is needed for food, housing, transportation, and these things are needed for survival. According to Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, there are five phases that you need to accomplish to become a self-actualized person. They are physiological needs, which are food and water, lodging and air. The second phase is security needs, and they need to feel safe and secure, which could be living in a good neighborhood. The third phase is social needs, which are love and belonging, for example family. The fourth phase is esteem needs, which are self-esteem and accomplishments. The last phase is self-actualizing needs, and few people reach this stage. Self-actualizing people are concerned with personal development, and not concerned with what others think, nevertheless fulfilling their full potential. An example is Abraham Lincoln and John F.…

Although there will always be those who say money cannot buy happiness, money can lead to personal satisfaction, which in the end leads to happiness. Happiness can be created through the things that one owns, also by what they have compared to others around them. As said in the article, “The Happiness of Pursuit,” one helps obtain happiness because “money can boost happiness if it allows people to obtain more of the things they need and desire” (qtd. in Kluger). This is proven through the fact that when people get what they want, or get more of the things they enjoy, then they become happy, and money can be used to get those things. It can also be argued that based on the amount of money one makes, their happiness can either be increased or decreased. In an article from the Time Magazine, according to Belinda Luscombe, “the more [people make], the more they felt their life was going well.” If it is true that the more money people make, and the better they feel pertaining to how their life is going, then they will definitely be happier depending on their monetary wealth. With the constant arguing back and forth of people as to whether money makes people happy, sad, or has no affect, it is apparent that money does affect people’s lives. Money can both help people get what they want, also help make their lives feel as if they are going well, which are both…

Those who don’t have money want it, and those that do have money want even more of it. In today’s world, money is so highly valued that most people don’t even know what to do with it. Whether to save it for something great, spend every dime, or put it away with no intent to spend it but know it’s there. Everyone dreams of growing up without money being an issue, without owing a single cent to anyone, without having to take out loans and pay over amounts of interest. However, when it comes down to college and school, people will owe great amounts of money and take out loans worth thousands of dollars. However, some are lucky enough to not pay anything.…

    Money Can Buy Happiness

Can money buy you happiness? It is a classical debate, sparked by the left-wing communists and religious leaders who suggest that a person can live a full life without the pursuit of money, and instead one must look to a more spiritual existence above the material desires. It is perhaps conceivable in a century gone by where people grew all their food and believed in witches, that a human could forge a fulfilling existence without the need of money to satisfy our desires. However in today’s society money can not only buy happiness, but is a major factor for happiness. Findings by the Institute of Economic Affairs show that happiness levels correlate with the amount of wealth a person accumulates. And, in contrast to popular belief, it does not level off when the assets reach a certain threshold. Money enables us to buy goods and services that we want. When we satisfy these wants we feel fulfilled, happy and pleased because we as humans love getting what we want. Money can give us experiences and opportunities that we would otherwise never be able to have. It can open doors to elite schooling, worldwide trips and making a difference in the world via charity. Money allows us to live a carefree, happy life because we don’t have financial strain. Money makes the world go round because it buys happiness, that’s why we spend hours a day slaving away to earn it. It is the key that unlocks the door to happiness.…

“Money has never made man happy, nor will it, there is nothing in its nature to produce happiness. The more of it one has, the more one wants,” quoted by Benjamin Franklin. Money can’t buy happiness because materials are short lived, human connection is more important, and wealth undermines people’s ability to savor positive events from the sheer abundance. Money will accumulate, but it is easy to chase more and more until you realize you’re not actually living.…

Throughout history money has been providing happiness and joy to most people. Allowing people to be free from financial issues and allowing then to achieve financial dreams however, money is not the total answer to success and happiness. Wisdom and truth are more important. The great Greek philosopher Socrates warned his fellow citizens by saying “are you not ashamed of heaping up the greatest amount of money and honour and reputation, and caring so little about wisdom and truth and the greatest improvement of the soul.” Unfortunately Socrates said that hundreds of years ago but this is a challenge that still relevant in today’s world because this world that we live in is full of mindless and unconscious people who believe that money and their reputation is the path to success and happiness. I personally disagree with this believe because I think that wisdom and truth are more important to success in wisdom and truth lays the foundation of every person. Once we have the wisdom money becomes secondary.…
