Executive Summary
“A 25-year-old employee in Foxconn suddenly died due to work strain”, “A 37-year-old professor in Tsinghua University worked to death”, “24 suicides and 13 attempted suicides happened at France Telecom”…In recent years, numerous headings about work-related death put the spotlights on the job stress which causes the negative impacts to both employees and organizations.

Job stress not only causes physical symptoms such as colds, viruses, headaches, overeating, sleeplessness, alcohol-drinking and smoking etc. but also causes mental problems such as anger, nervous feeling, depression, violence etc. These negative impacts lead decreased organization productivity and increased health care expense for the organizations. “U.S Stress Statistics” published on July.28th, 2103 shows that annual costs to employers in stress related health care and missed work are up to $300 Billion. It’s a huge loss. [1]

Yoga is a holistic approach for people
to gain physical and mental health
timely at a low cost. It gives the
employees the skills on stress
management and personal growth;
meanwhile, improves their ability of
focusing and stamina. Yoga classes on
site in the corporate gives employees a
pause to refresh mind and recharge
energy during the consistent stressful
workday.
This document proposes the employers
provide tailored 6-months corporate yoga programs to effectively and efficiently decrease the health care expense and maximize the organization’s productivity; Enhance employees’ ability of stress management and focusing; Foster a positive enterprise culture of healthiness and loyalty. The advantages of this wellbeing program far outweigh the disadvantages. A recent study on worksite health programs indicated more than a 25% average reduction in health-care costs for well-designed programs (American Journal of Health Promotion). [2]

Statement of Problem
With the economic recession in recent years, large scale layoffs have caused increasing unemployment rate which creates a tense atmosphere in workplace. “The America

Institute of Stress” lately reported that there are “80% of workers feel stress on the job, nearly half say they need help in learning how to manage stress and 42% say their coworkers need such help”. Trend of this phenomenon has become overwhelming because the fast-paced lifestyle, high-strength workload and complex social relationships have driven workers out of breath and beyond of their control. [4] The below “U.S stress statistics” has revealed that a majority of employees are going through work stains and are suffering pains from it.
