In a work setting people may communicate for various reasons. The main reasons may be, exchanging of information whether that is with your colleague, young people, parents or any others to whom it regards. There will also be times when you want to express your needs and feelings to people around you. It could be in a situation where for e.g. the children have misbehaved and you will have to sit down with them and express your emotions into words to explain their actions. It could be with parents regarding their children, to plan the activities for the day or even staff meetings.
If it is a child then he or she will also communicate to socialise and answer questions or express needs and wants.

Explain how effective communication affects all aspects of own work.
Effective communication is when the right message has been sent and received. If done well, it can build good relationships. Showing interest to whom you may be speaking to whether that is in using good body language and conveying warmth and understanding will maintain a positive work place. You will avoid problems and cause less misunderstandings. Work will be more effectively done whether that is with members of staff or young children.
If done so time will be well spent and everyone will feel supported which will allow sessions to run smoothly. Children will pick up good vibes and feel safe and secure knowing that they have good role models to look up to which will make the parents/guardians content knowing that work settings can be trusted.
